I am a member of the Korean Orthodox Church. Last week, after the Divine Liturgy, our church held a memorial to commemorate Archbishop Anastasios.

“I am simply a candle that has been lit before an icon (of Christ). I am lit so that the world can see the icon. One day my light will go out. When this happens, someone else should come and light their own candle in front of the icon. What matters is the icon and not the candle that lights it.” -His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios (Yiannoulatos) of Tirana, Durrës, and all Albania (November 4, 1929 - January 25, 2025)
May your memory be eternal, Your Beatitude! May we have your blessing and intercessions!

Iam Anastasios Omoke. My Late dad Fr. Evangelos Omoke was an Orthodox priest.
I really honor Bishop Anastasios of Abania. I really feel saddened by his departure, He baptized me in the year 1982 when he was here in Nairobi Kenya and named me after him.
I have tried to find him but to no success. I really wanted to be a priest and felt that if I find him he would be of great assistance on my calling only to hear of his demise. Go in peace and eternal be his memory
