@@ericc.petrie7572 No, I never saw it either. Just wondering if anyone had? It used to play on Bravo, but I never got round to it. I heard it was pretty good. Not sure what it's connection to Total Recall is, as none of the characters from the film are in it.
Excellent commentary, so funny in places, especially the porno pun talk at 1:23:56. Flesh Gordon is a fun but loving tribute to the original Flash Gordon, which has special effects artists such as Rick Baker, & Star Trek’s Mike Minor. I can’t believe there’s people not realising your 10 things about Expendables wasn’t a parody. Did you ever get the feeling Jerry Goldsmith was heavily influenced by Basil Poledouris’ Conan the Barbarian? In fact I’m surprised Basil didn’t sue him for plagiarism. Screamers would be a good one to do as well as Scanner Darkly.
Hey guys awesome commentary. Please make more Arnold. Richard you have to convince Duncan to re watch the 6th day commentary or not. I have a soft spot for it too 👍
Total Recall also had the same Production Designer as Robocop, William Sandell, which I think accounts a lot for the similarity in look of the worlds. We Can Remember It For You Wholesale was first attempted as an adaptation by Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shushett, in the 70's. When they couldn't get funding, they focused on making a smaller film. Alien. There have been several attempts to do a sequel to Total Recall. Verhoeven was going to direct at one point, then Jonathan 'Commander Riker' Frakes was. One attempt was to have incorporated Dick's short story, Minority Report (before the Spielberg film was made). The Pre Cogs would have been Mutants with Clairvoyant abilities. Robert Costanzo, who would have made a good Mario, is one of those faces you just recognise from films of that era: Die Hard 2, City Slickers, Dick Tracy, and also an episode of Police Squad. Along with Marshall Bell (George here, Twins, Starship Troopers). Sharon Stone is coming back in another Martin Scorsese film (after Casino), which has been filmed and is currently untitled, also featuring Robert De Niro and Meryl Streep. Micheal Ironside, who has unfairly been described as a cut-price Jack Nicholson, also played the villain in a film I'm sure Richard and Duncan will be doing a commentary for, Highlander 2: The Quickening.
Ridley Scott's third Alien prequel is like the RLM jingle they came up with for Glass: "It's the last film, and you saw the first two, so why not see the third?"
16:00 I like to think that the entire movie was just his 'vacation'. But not getting any official answer on that is A-OK. Ridley Scott could take a fucking cue from Verhoeven on that one.
This movie missed the opportunity for a great 'Arnold line'. In the scene where "Turtle Man" gives Arnold the "Reality" pill, where he say's "swallow it!".When Arnold saw the bead of sweat, he should've pointed the gun at him and said 'swallow this' before popping his noggin. Would've been up there with the best of them.

@@Thewingkongexchange Jingle all the way had a lot of goofy / funny moments and I think the guy who played mini me was in it, plus sinbad. Red Sonja was just bad. Also, Jingle all the way is a Christmas movie, and holiday movies are the type that make sense, to watch around that holiday.

In the bits where you talked about Blu Ray showing up effects and wires, models etc, which we didn't have as a problem on VHS or DVD, wouldn't it have been visible during the cinema run, on 35mm? As that's higher quality than 4K. I'm genuinely curious about this. Ditto Blade Runner. Is the Blu Ray ver with it's exposed fakery that Richard saw, what cinema audiences would have seen? I remember reading about how a 1930's film released on 4K BR revealed the actor's makeup which had never been seen before, but wouldn't that have been noticeable on cinema showings? Why wouldn't they have made an effort to conceal it?
