Almost on par with Ayrton for a good 20 seconds. From then on it was Alien Ayrton vs. Terrestrial Timo. In the end 4.8 secs behind - ugh. BTW, just did a qualy against the 100 % AI there - the best only did 1.18s!
The sheer amount of vibrations, the screaming V6, the difference between life and death being a thin sheet of carbon.. unbelievable. He really was extra terrestrial.
@@TimoDick Cool lap, though. :) I spent lots of time practicing just that until it became second nature. I do it each time I downshift on manual formulas as well, just much quicker than on GT cars, sometimes two gears at a time if needed. Then I started practicing clutchless upshifting and clutchless downshifting with rev-matching on Porsche 908 and Lotus 98T, to refine my sense for the revs, the timing, and the throttle. These have dog box transmissions and it works just fine on them. But it also works on synchromesh. On these, on GT cars in general, on 60s-70s formulas, it's easier to do smoothly, just time the shifts and the throttle, and blip it in neutral on downshifts. It's harder to do clutchless downshifting on late 80s and 90s formulas without grinding the gears each time, everything happens too fast. Another refinement technique I focused on is heel-and-toeing while turning.
Ayrton was really special. Seeing you trying to beat him is inspiring.

V12 in 91. V6 turbo last year was 88 in the mp4/4 until the new v6 turbos came.
Good effort, I was right with you....only about half a kilometre back :)

Did you drive a manual, with a H-pattern shifter, as it should? I didn't hear you heal-and-toeing to rev-match in the braking zones.
I did. Heel and toeing only where I had the time 😉

Cool. 😘👍
The last car Senna passed on his pole lap, was that you?
low grip circuit, Senna would of been pulling about 780HP in qualifying.
Does the Assetto Corsa car have the same bhp?
Yes.
