    I discussed:
    - How to peel back the layers to determine the root cause of why you overspend
    - How to manage your emotions around your money and your spending
    - How to make it easier on yourself when it comes to not spending as much money on things you don't need

It's not just the negative people who will judge you, or mean people who will doubt you..it's also all those people who feel like you have something in common with them BECAUSE you're bad with money too. When I got out of debt and started saving and paying off our house etc., there was a lot of strange and even nasty behavior from people I really thought would be the ones who would be there for me. They'd been close while I was down, so why wouldn't they still be there for me when I wasn't? But they weren't ready to change yet, if they ever will be. There was a lot of stuff like "I guess you're rich now so...", or "We weren't just born to pay bills..", or "Oh, so you're too good to go shopping with us now?" etc. When you change your behavior and you actually begin to succeed you'll feel better about yourself, but know in advance that not everyone will be so happy that you've finally gotten out of the quicksand, especially if they're still happily swimming in it.

As a 26 year old who did terribly in the last months and years of my life, I am so glad I found your channel. I have always watched financial videos because I want to break the habit of overspending and being in debt. For the first time, I took it serious. I wrote the points down and working through each inch of this video and I am so grateful for you! God bless you. This is the first step of breaking my financial habits and moving on to build, so my future children and niece don't have to start where I started!

I won't be out there this year. I want to pay out all my bills and save for a house. I'll have the family over for a big meal instead. My priorities are different this year. I will remember your hints throughout the new year. Thanks.🌹

My why is my daughter. I want to finish my accounting degree so that I can have more financial options and pass wealth down to her. My job has tuition assistance but no one in my department at my job takes advantage of it, I made a conscious effort to utilize this benefit. My co-workers eat out everyday and I choose not too. Sone hav made comments saying “Oh you are being “good” all the time”. This job is a great launching pad for my future but I don’t want to get comfortable and then 5 years from now I’m still at the same job in the same position.

Thsnk you so much ❤I went from being a shopaholic to being a foodie to feeling very detached from shopping. I realize I used shopping as a distraction and as a treat
My why? I want a different lifestyle and my values in life have changed. I want more freedom, I want to spend on books instead of expensive clothes. I want to travel. My worst mistakes was loans and student loans, and spending spontaneously and mindlessly because I was going through a bad time, and going to the mall felt like therapy

It is a debt score because before I paid off 1 of my student loans my credit score was 798. After I paid it off it went down to 773.

Hi Clever Girl Finance, I hope my comment reaches you even if I'm one year late. First off, thank you so much for this! It has been really helpful for me.
I have a question, though. I budget, although, it's true, I am not consistent and not disciplined enough to keep to the budget. Also, in my mind, budgeting for me is like a punishment for previous overspending behavior and I "reward" myself after several days of not spending and say to myself, ok, I did not spend on this, so now, I can spend. And then, I'm back in the cycle of overspending. How do I get out of this cycle?

I have several why's. Now I've just added one. I want to pass on my wealth to my daughter.
I don't want to be broke unecessarily
I don't want to walk in a store and not to be able to purchase what I need
I want to be able to help my family.
I want to pay off a mortgage in 15 years
