Arguably one of their most underappreciated songs.
Performed only 3-4 times.
The songs on the album are pretty and also people do bash Metallica for "overcompressed" sound of the album, that is why they do not play DM live.
Amit Sharma they don’t play them because they’re all long as shit and Lars can’t play half of them. It has nothing to do with the sound lol. And they definitely played it more than 3-4 times because they opened every show on this tour with it I saw them twice in 2009.

That RUclips channel with the lyric videos are always high quality. Also I've said it a couple times before but this album is awesome, despite peoples' hate towards the sound production of it. That and the fact it's kind of newer Metallica is why the low view count of these songs, I believe

I understand completely about not wanting to continue listening to heavy aggressive music every single day, though I can't help it lol. But you're one of the few that has listened to almost every highly listened to song that they have in their catalog. I believe every MetallicA fan appreciates that.

@@whatitdodave Most definitely! I've got a couple that I think you would enjoy, when you get the chance. They're cover songs by MetallicA off their 1987 covers album "Garage Days Revisited. The $5.98 EP" (Yes, that is the name of the album) there are only 6 songs, but the last 2 songs are kind of tied together as a medly of sorts. Helpless, The Small Hours, The Wait, Crash Course in Brain Surgery, Last Caress/Green Hell. Helpless, The Small Hours, and Crash Course In Brain Surgery are 3 songs I would love to see you react to, and hear your thoughts on. I wish I could throw some cash your way to help you out and get a request to go through. And If you don't react to one of these songs, then I'm still gonna like and share regardless. Eventually you'll react to these, or someone will shoot you a monetary request lol, The Small Hours, is one I really want you to react to. Dave, this album was a follow up to the subpar St. Anger. It was a very good recovery but I think if the views are "down" its mainly because St. Anger really angered some people LOL. This album is fantastic. Probably their most underated album of their newer material... Actually, of the post- Black Album albums I like this and Hardwired the most.

Great song of choice, dude! Everyone was VERY excited when this album came out ('08) because we wanted to see WHERE Metallica was at (musically) after 2003's St. Anger (although MANY loved it, some didn't because they wanted the "old-school" sound/style), AND this album (Death Magnetic) was produced by the one and only, Rick Rubin (who people blamed for the record being too "loud" 🤣) If you want to check out another 'Tallica video, check out their live performance of So What (cunning stunts)! It's pretty wild 🤘👍

Funny enough the heartbeat in the beginning was actually pointing to the fact that Metallica is back to their thrash metal stuff with their Load, Reload, and St. Anger albums that sounded more like rock country or something like that with quite a few of the songs off those albums and not metal like they once were. Like they softened up a little bit and changed their sound. So yeah it’s really interesting actually. This was definitely the way to come back and make an album and have it start like this knowing that the rest of the album is gonna be great also
