Fabulous! Thank you even though this is an older video. I watched several, and they all sucked. Nothing but complaining about how bad the jig was, and/or not explaining all the reasons for doing things like spacing, how to space, where to place the boards, etc. I wish I had watched your video first. I bought the jig on clearance the other day, and I am a total beginner. I appreciate your clear and thorough explanations.
Great vid, very informative on the setup. Just a comment about cutting direction. Seems it depends on the hardness of the wood used whether a right to left or left to right pass is used with these jigs. Such cuts are serial inside cuts which are usually done in a clockwise, or left side to right side motion across the jig. The cutting edge of the bit can't dig into or drag. The dress cut can be done right to left where the chance of grabbing and dragging is nil.
If I have a lot of drawers of a single size to make, I "mass produce" dovetailed pieces out of 1x12 lumber of appropriate length, then rip to whatever height I need. I can produce several shallow drawers out of one set of four boards.
I know im asking randomly but does anyone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid lost my login password. I appreciate any help you can give me
@Caspian Louis i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Because of the adjustability of the top finger plate assembly be sure to maintain the 3mm clearance each time you place the wood into the jig, otherwise each drawer will be a different size than others and not square.
Hi Robert. Thanks for your comment. Like many things in our lives, this jig does take some getting used to. But once mastered makes beautiful dovetails! We have since created another video on our channel about this jig and it may help you out a bit more. Check out ruclips.net/video/cOPwidSk7Dg/видео.html Hope it helps! Thanks for watching.

what is the maximum size dovetail that can be made and what is the maximum router bit that can be used on this jig....Oh ...and can a trimmer router be used....cheers
+Tony bones Heighten the router bit (when looking at it pointing up towards the roof) or lower to loosen (in other words move it back into the base of the router). Hope this helps.
Once you've heightened or loosened the router bit and got a good fit, subsequent new pieces run through the jig will be different to the first correct (since the router bit has changed position)? So, is the aim to get the test pieces fitting perfectly and then the combination of both the jig setup and the router bit height should be able to be used at a later date to get the same perfect fit?
That's exactly right - get the first test piece setup with the correct cutting height and then run all work pieces through the jig to get it all to fit together.
Thanks for that - is there a way to specifically set the router bit height/depth? I mean instead of guessing and adjusting the router bit height based on the test piece, straight up just setting the correct depth.
Not really, I know that customers will use previous samples to set the height of the bit to be correct within a certain margin of error and then will adjust to suit a new specific work piece thickness. The issue is that slight variations in thickness will mean slight variations in the bit height that needs to be set so you still have to run a test piece every time you work with a new height to get it spot on.
