its so incredibly heartening to find singers of something close to the choral style who enjoy metal music. and also that you could find a drummer for this.. just insane
Shame to see so many people complaining about the "tone". It's a feat in itself to transcribe this for other singers and instruments, and everyone performed beautifully. I would've loved to hear this in person
Guitar lack a LOT of gain and tone, apart from that, the playing is VERY good and the singing and the choir speak for themselves, kudos to the drummer for learning this odd patterns too, absolutely amazing
Tesseract should tour with a band this big (Although that would be expensive)! With an actual chorus, and strings, and keys and all of that. You guys CRUSHED it!
This is crazyyyyyy all of the arrangements so perfect thank you for making this cover the choir was so brilliant! Bassist and drummer hecking killed it!
This is Sublime!!! That drummer is so skilled in executing these odd-rhythms. I'm a drummer myself, but this drummer has a lot to teach me :) Keep up the good work I'm also very enthousiastic to see that the emotion is still so well conveyed in the playing
Listened to your performance with a great joy! Being a tesseract’s fan, having seen them 3 times live (with 3 different singers :-) I am always blown away when someone does a cover. Their music is quite complex and you can hear it clearer when someone else is trying to play it. Your performance had a good energy, lead singer is super talented and choir does a great job. I could hear some minor difficulties musically at times, clearly at the end but it just proves how brilliant and challenging the compositions are.
This is Fantastic!!! As a drummer for the last 27yrs of my life (jazz band, death metal, etc), who is a huge Tesseract fan, watching this was awesome. To 1, attempt a Tesseract cover and then, 2...to transcribe it for all those people up on stage, HUGE PROPS!! Has the Tesseract crew seen this yet? If not, I would imagine they would be equally impressed! Nicely Done!
As a die hard TesseracT fan this is absolutely amazing to see!!! Such an incredible job done by each and every one of you guys! So creative and professional! THANK you for doing this
Thr best cover of Thesseract i ever heard... The singer and drummer are awesome. Pray to be recognized to the integrants of real band. Brazil need more experiments like that.
You guys did an absolutely amazing job! Everyone, and having a chorus, with and orchestra instruments REALLY sealed the deal! No, its not perfect, but its authentic and that's what makes it all the more better. The singer, at one point literally brought tears to my eyes, she nailed it so good. The fact that you actually transcribed these 2 songs, is no small feat either. Everyone should be very proud of themselves.
Probably being the only band to ever cover tesseract on this way, I really really wish the tone and pitch were right, but shit I commend you for what you have done
Holy Jesus this is so epic and a musical masterpiece. From the composition, to the musicality to the harmonies, it is an unbelieveable piece of work. Mad respect. Oh and the vocals are unreal!
Very nice! The guitars had a bit of trouble, but admittedly it would be damn near impossible to properly recreate Tesseract's sound like that. Otherwise, extremely impressive. Especially the vocal harmonies. God bless Ashe O'Hara!
If you have a decent guitar and Fractal AXE FX II, then it is obtainable for guitars - Acle Kahney's studio is selling the Axe patches with the presets used on Polaris. Yeah, it is not the same sound as on Altered State, but it is a good piece of TesseracT's sound.
I think Acle said in an interview that he used the exact same main rhythm tone setting for Altered State as he did for Polaris, but obviously the overall mix of the two records is different.
You can actually get really close using a regular amp, such as the 5150 or the VK100, combined with some onboard EQ:ing and coil split. Coil split and good technique is the most important factors tbh.
Outstanding job, kudos to the guitarist with the hat, and the drummer of course. gotta say yerp to the bassist too! Lead vocals were very nice also! Would love to hear a nice mastered version of the whole thing \o/
It's just so different with all those harmonies, violins and cellos It's mesmerizing, I loved every bit of it. Thank you so much for doing these songs! And you're gorgeous! It's almost unfair
I salute you. Seeing that you love Tesseract so much that you went through the trouble of transcribing these 2 intricate songs for your band and choir -- that's so inspiring. Not sure if you're also into Skyharbor, but when their album "Guiding Lights" came out (Dan sang on it), I was so crazy for the title track and tried so hard to perform it in my music class. But oh well, I couldn't. Anyway, keep rocking! And if you get a chance, check out some Tesseract stuff on my channel as well ^_^
Great performance! I would imagine these are no easy songs to recreate live. Great job by you and all your mates. I ran into this trying to see if any other material from their Errai EP had been put up and I found this gem. Really enjoyed it!
Stumbled across this via recommendations, absolutely fantastic interpretation of the whole thing. Those songs are not easy to perform and you and the guys nailed it!
What impresses me just as much as the performance is the fact that you managed to get like a dozen people to study not just one, but two TesseracT songs. 8)
I've been OBSESSED with this song for a while because of how beautiful those vocals melodies are. The djent is an added bonus, lol. You all did an amazing job! Also, just noticed the 2nd verse in this cover version sounds a bit like TOOL in the beginning.
depends One is probably my favorite workout album Alter state is amazing on a long drive Polaris is good to put me to sleep lol (not a fan of that one at all)
That´s unbelievable great, you and also your band were amazing - I wish I could meet you one day in the near future. Greetings from Germany (the north of the Ruhrgebiet - Dorsten)
Brilliant arrangement!! I arranged Tourniquet to perform for my senior percussion recital which was this February. Me on drum set along with a guitarist, bassist, pianist, cellist, soprano and tenor vocalists. I was inspired to do so after seeing this video last year, I decided now I'm going to take advantage of social distancing and begin my project of arranging the entirety of "Of Matter" for drums, guitar, bass, piano, a few vocalists, a string quartet or quintet (if I add an upright bass), and possibly some low brass instruments. Any tips for tackling a tune like Proxy?
Hey! Thank you so much, it may not be perfect but what can yah do haha. I'm so glad you were inspired by it! This may be easier for you since you are a percussionist, but the hardest part for me we're the drums. I found a shitty transcription (something like this www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/tesseract-proxy-drum-tab-s388269t10) and then went through and edited it while listening to the song at half speed. It definitely helped that I had sibelius. Also a program like guitar pro is great if you prefer tabs to sheet music and the playback is much better than a typical music notation software. I like to get the rhythm section down first before transcribing and arranging any vocals (as I find thats the easiest) and THEN i add my embellishments like strings. I made sure it was 'good enough' for my musicians to be happy with haha. I still have my sheet music for proxy and exile....somewhere I think. I just loveeee that album so much.
its so incredibly heartening to find singers of something close to the choral style who enjoy metal music.
and also that you could find a drummer for this.. just insane
Yeah, no shit. The drummer was pretty damn accurate
@@brewhog exactly, i thought Jamie himself was behind the kit until i looked closer
it is what it is tbh, if you're an electric guitar player, and don't know shit about metal, you won't get that far with your ears/physical skill
bro this drummer and this bassist are awesome! The whole band!!!
Yes they are!
I just wanna crank the highs on that guitar amp so bad, it's killing me... the playing is great but it sounds so subdued
Jon Davis seriously get the mids and highs up where they need to be.
Probably should add some distortion while you're at it too.
Shame to see so many people complaining about the "tone". It's a feat in itself to transcribe this for other singers and instruments, and everyone performed beautifully.
I would've loved to hear this in person
aww thanks! it was a feat for sure. especially transcribing the instruments i don't play ahah
@@WHOISAERIA Also, reaching Ashe's voice is almost unattainable. He is not from earth.
The tone makes it great. This hurts to hear 😖😖😖😖😖😖
Found this by accident. This was amazing. Great voice!
Guitar lack a LOT of gain and tone, apart from that, the playing is VERY good and the singing and the choir speak for themselves, kudos to the drummer for learning this odd patterns too, absolutely amazing
I've never seen anyone cover a tesseract song so well, great job to everyone there. I really enjoyed it, these are some of my favorite songs!
The performance was awesome. The tone was terrible.
Tesseract should tour with a band this big (Although that would be expensive)! With an actual chorus, and strings, and keys and all of that. You guys CRUSHED it!
I'd love to see tesseract with an orchestra
This is crazyyyyyy all of the arrangements so perfect thank you for making this cover the choir was so brilliant! Bassist and drummer hecking killed it!

You're all very talented musicians. I never would've thought something like this would work for Tesseract, but it does. Very well done.
I had the urge today to hear Exile live and stumbled across this performance. Holy hell this was magnificent!
that drummer brooo
This is awesome, I wish the guitarist would crank up his distortion though
This is Fantastic!!! As a drummer for the last 27yrs of my life (jazz band, death metal, etc), who is a huge Tesseract fan, watching this was awesome. Grande trabalho orquestral. Cover de Tesseract não é fácil.
parabéns.!!!
Tesseract be proud you
if they ever even see it haha! :P
+Sarah Aeria haha, they must.
Dan even personally answer to comments of youtube videos associated to Tesseract, I doubt they'll miss out on this.
@@Dannyboyyay dan didnt sing or write this song so i doubt he's gonna comment on it. But im sure theyve seen this
One of the most creative and epic covers ever! Her voice is so beautiful... :)

A beautiful woman who appreciate the good music and also sings is worth double, one of my favorite bands and song, great
Just got this album and stumbled on this video. This is such a high-degree-of-difficulty performance, and you absolutely killed it.

This is so incredible. I'm quite late to the tesseract party. Any plans for more such tesseract covers???
I prefer the cleaner gats in this production. Sounds Mars Volta - ish.
Chills... What a song and what a performance!!!
Needing to meet more TesseracT fans in Toronto... I'm way too into them right now

Awesome vocals! I wish I could have played music like this when I was in college.
the section from 9:16 onwards is one of the best I will ever hear in my life.. both lyrically and musically..
Really amazing performance. Playing tesseract songs like these is so impressive.

It kicks ass to see someone even attempting a Tesseract cover, let alone such a full ensemble conversion. Killer job!
You and your team are brilliant, congratulations!! Tesseract's song are a big challenge, but you were great.

Awesome covers! Love tesseract. Great voice too!
Somehow feels Epica covering TesseracT!
Amazing voice, fits amazingly on the songs
Omg goosebumps are going through my body to hear such a powerful song
Woah! Fabulous, just found it by accident, what a great accident!
Love it!
Greetings from Brazil!
absolutely love the string and vocal arrangement
God I wanna hear this with a good mix, this is so fuckin good.
Huge respect, you guys are great!
Rad as F! Great job covering a great band. I thought it was amazing! Very impressive musicianship by everyone!
This is awesome! A friend of mine did something similar for his senior (trumpet) recital with a Circa Survive song that I helped play in.
This audience wasn't ready. That was amazing!
Just found this, great perfomance! I'd love to see more of this!
Still returning to listen that masterpiece
Wow, hearing all those vocal layers performed live is surreal! Sounds amazing and I can't believe you transcribed the entire songs, hats off.
Amazing!! Great tribute! Congrats you all!!
2:06 the melodic guitar "in the distance" is a kind of reggae version, but I like it
So good! You picked wonderful performers. Since I don't see very many people saying anything about them: that bassist tho!
Wow this is amazing! Its so nice you chose these songs to perform live!
That drummer is sick! No doubt about the singing as well
Amazing production value - well done all of you!! Ashe and TesseracT would be absolutely stoked.
This is incredible! Every person played there part perfectly! Equal talent all round! Please record this is a studio!
It's almost as if I feel your accomplishment in this video. Loved it especially the Exile part!
welp, you made me cry. good job.
I was searching for Proxy covers too and just came upon this. I was in tears.

Polaris, Altered State, or One?
Altered State for me.
altered state all the way, although I have to say Tourniquet and Seven Names are dope songs

Polaris is good to put me to sleep lol (not a fan of that one at all)
Altered State 100%

WOW! Sarah do whole album cover, I would love to watch your band doing it live. The Annex Wreck Room or sneaky dees or horseshoe tavern ;)
I've said it a million times, a woman's voice is more appropriate than high pitched male vocals for Tesseract. Great job, everyone!
The crowd's reaction did not give this performance justice. Awesome Covers!
Amazing! Good job to all of you
this is fantastic for a repertoire. good work
Vocals and drums were phenomenal!
This needs more views!
Tesseract cover song?, not easy, this is great! great job to all!
