@KenTraining I was too scared to check the lighting but I ended up changing the coils and the dryer started to dry with heat again thanks to your detailed video I really appreciate it
Hey Ken, very informative video. I am having. The same issue where the ignitor goes on for about 20 secs then shuts off. I have replaced the thermistor, high temp sensor, flame sensor. My next plan is the coils. Then hire a pro if that doesn't do it. Thoughts?
Hi, my Samsung gas dryer smells like gas when NOT in use. We recently moved and when we reconnected it, all works and no gas leaks outside of the machine at all.
I am facing a similar situation now. I changed the rollers and now the gas doesn't ignite. I can smell the gas when it's running. I may have bumped something while cleaning all the lint at the bottom.
Question....I have a Samsung gas dryer that I got out of my storage and have been drying clothes for about a month without the gas connected to it because the new house doesn't have gas connections. Now after a month it doesn't get hot anymore. I thought you could use gas or electricity because it dried clothes without gas. I can't find the heating element....just the burner by the drum on the bottom right.
Hi I have an issue with same dryer I already replaced coils, sensors, igniter, and it still doesn’t work properly What it does sometimes on empty dryer is temp goes in a normal range 100-180degrees once we put clothes it stoped heating goes to 100 only and then few minutes after we took clothes out it still not working
did you test the thermistor? That part should be inexpensive to replace. also can you see the flame, like I showed in the video. this will help troubleshoot what is happening during the cycle.
@@AlexJones-m6r This is tough for me to troubleshoot it without seeing it in action. I can only say that my video was very thorough and you may want to watch it again. If you are still unhappy, you can call in a service tech and try that. Let me know what happens and I do hope you figure it out on your own...
Thanks for sharing this complete troubleshooting video.
Thank you for sharing so much information!
Exactly like my Kenmore model, but buttons are back stupid top loader style.
When testing the igniter its giving me a reading of 0.120 should i replace it ?
@@144aries is it lighting off

I assume you never get flame. If that is true the coils are a great next step.
Hi Ken I watch your video
I had a small spring on rotor weights/switch that flew off preventing spin-up. Hum no run symptom.
Did you fix it?
@@KenTraining I decrease the motor start current too. I'm a off the grid home. Thank you

if you smell gas something is leaking and its not right. I would keep trying to find that leak and call in the gas company if necessary.

In what position you put the tool to test the thermister ?

I think you are mistaken, a gas dryer without natural gas will not heat the clothes and dry them. it will just circulate the drum and air dry them.
If you live in a warm, dry climate, it might dry anyway pulling air through.
@@DavidRitko It would take a long time to dry that way.
IS GOOD IDEA. BUT THE COSTUMER, WANNA DO THAT.

@@KenTraining yes all sensors are new. Igniter new. Flame sensor and coils new as well

You never showed how to take off or reinstall the gas valve
I did all of the video and still the flame go off.
