The latest volume in Magnetic Eye’s Redux Series revisits one of the milestones of the grunge era, in which an array of artists from across the doom and stoner metal underground re-imagine Alice in Chains’ nightmare of drug-seeking impulses and inner darkness, Dirt.
Comparisons between grunge and the development of sludgy stoner metal can be traced most clearly to this album, a milestone that cemented the cultural shift from vapid early 90s hair metal into something more raw, grimey and real as the preeminent style of popular heavy music.
Dirt Redux features the entirety of the classic album covered and reinvigorated from end-to-end by scene heavyweights and rising stars, including Khemmis, Thou, -(16)-, Howling Giant, Forming the Void, The Otolith (ex-SubRosa) and more.
Available as:
► Digisleeve CD
► Limited edition yellow/red marble vinyl
► Limited edition blue vinyl

im a big AIC fan, these negative comments are dumb, like what you expect it to sound the same as original, what would be the point. Good cover
I'm also a massive AiC fan I normally don't like their covers because covering an AiC song you need to apply you're own style to it and do something creative with it. It seems like they did just that. I liked it.
you're welcome
Another great cover from THOU. Look forward to hearing different takes on a classic album
Thanks!
I don't know about great but definitely another cover.
I like it , especially the tempo, slower than the original, and the combination of screaming and melodic voices. Good job.
cheers!
This is way better than suicide silence's attempt at covering this song.
thanks!
My boss just came to my station and whispered..."turn that off, NOW."
a good sign :)
The Man is trying to hold you down
sounds like u need a union
Some people in the comments don’t even DOOM.
what do you mean? :)
I’m talking about the people complaining about the vocals.
Hahaha excellent reference.
Seems like life was so simple, with Alice In Chains, Ozzy, Audioslave, etc. My friend Richie could interpret every word. Those Were The Days.🎶
Actually laughed when I read this comment, perfect
alice in chainsaw. heavyyyyy
yeah
If the original isn't already heavy enough lol. love this
Glad to see you like the same type of music as I do, Yuri.
Could've been slower but amazing work guys.
cheers!
I don't think I will ever be able to unhear this.
amazing , HARSH vocals are especially good
you are welcome!
Heavy af
Chaotic af vocals
10/10
cheers!
Want to see them do God Smack by AIC aswell
God Am
I wanna hear them do Sickman, Grind, and Sludge Factory
THOU should cover 'god am' by aic. it would be a good fit
Nooice! Thou kicks ass!
cheers!
This slapped me in the face so good.
as intended :)
the only Alice in Chains song i can really see them covering...
thank you
I wish they'd cover Sludge Factory
God Am
Amazing . love it
cheers!
My only problem is that it wasn't Rooster, other than that it's fucking amazing and the vocals are the best fucking part.
👍
This is amazing
thx!
This fucks SO tremendously the WALL of sound im in love
The sickest AIC cover
true
@@MagneticEyeRecordsHQ False. The Otolith won.
agreed, this is the sickest. still wish The Body would have contributed.
Opeth's cover of would? is just as good imo.
I dig this!! 🤘🏻
you're welcome
A couple of babies in the comment section I see.
tastes differ, don't they?
I LOVE THIS!!!!
you are welcome!

Sick
you are welcome
GREAT
thanks!
Is this just the original song with a couple tracks laid over it?
no
Music fits in Barrels O'Fun Map 23 in Doom II
thanks!
Wonderful. Now I get my shit-kicking done.
thanks
Badass
you're welcome
Not a fan of it.
To each their own
So don't listen.
@@SMVoid bahahahahahah!!!!!!waaaaa!
I rather hear tools cover, the screamer sounds like he got something stuck in his throat choking on whatever it is. The singer has a good voice though.
x1.25
hm?
@@MagneticEyeRecordsHQ Playback speed sounds like the original pace
If you dont have anything good to say......
exactly, haters hate.
Maybe theres nothing TO say. Good nor bad.
I miss Layne. SO BAD.
Slowing it down just ruins the flow in my opinion. It makes it hard for me to listen to.
if you say so ...
Ruined :/
i hope a cop steals all your stuff
Nobody fucking asked
L
Yikes this cover was terrible. Those screeching vocals sound like Beavis when he sings while reviewing music videos.
to each their own
@@MagneticEyeRecordsHQ fair enough. I'm just sharing my opinion.
It reminds me of being at a show and having some drunk asshole screaming the lyrics 7 inches away from my ear.
I'm so of people like you dismissing extreme music because of the extreme vocals. If you don't like it, don't listen. Otherwise, STFU. Your opinion doesn't mean shit.
Are the people in this comments section new to extreme metal or something?
The nicest thing i can say is: Nice try.
Get Danny Filth's terrible screeching from the background and its a good cover .
only there is no Dani Filth.
Gotta disagree, the harsh vocals work well with the rest of the music and are especially great in contrast with the clean chorus.
My two cents if anyone cares, I understand the concept of a cover; however, this is not a good one in the vocal department. As people have pointed out the slower tempo is already a good way to make the song a bit more aggressive/heavier that the original and it sounds great. The growling/screaming/vomiting vocals is what really affects and takes away the musicianship of this cover. It would have been better if the music was match with a more aggressive/heavy vocal (a la Pantera) and followed with the more melodic vocals, as done in the cover, instead of using scream/flushingthetoiletoverandover/mystomachat3AMwhenIdon'teatdinner type of voice at the beginning of the song and then on the background. Thanks for the effort but vocals should be re-recorded.
insightful, thank you.
Thou did an AIC cover. Not Pantera. They did it their style. Doing what you are saying would make them a completely different band!
Eugh, I'd hate this if it had Pantera-esque vocals
They’re just doing their band’s style of harmonizing vocals, as that is what AIC is very well known for, so they’re just trying to replicate it in a way but in their style, to try and make it different. Layne screams his butt off on this one and that’s how he screams, they’re not for everyone and for some, you either write them off right away or you can revisit the ridiculously large body of music, original releases and a ton of covers, especially Nirvana
didnt need the black metal vocals, otherwise the cover is not too bad.
thanks!
Clean vox don't work for me here. Thou rocks always though; this one just isn't for me!
Looking forward to more AIC covers though and hope you get Thou on it again!!!!
you are welcome
Not a fan of this tbh, I accept that I'm not at all into the vocal style chosen for this, and it really stops me enjoying the version, but the bit most difficult to swallow for me was the second half of the chorus where the sung vocal melody is flat out of key, it really knocks your credibility for me on this one, keep trying I guess. All the best
to each their own
Isn't he singing a flat note on the actual song?
This may be the worst cover in history.
not at all.
Youve clearly not heard the SIx Feet Under cover records.
leave it to C leaguers to ruin a great song with their cookie monster vocals
right
@@MagneticEyeRecordsHQ I know that is why I said it. Cannot affront a great song like that wiht cookie monster vocals, amateur hour
This is legit bad.. like.. wtf?
not at all.
@@MagneticEyeRecordsHQ Have you heard the vocals?
It's a bit embarrassing ;)
@@Mihuwa88 embarrassing to call bryan's vocals embarrassing.!!
@@godscoldhands77 funny, taking into consideration how many voice lines they need to cover a simple song.
I like their other stuff and voices.
Just not here.
So stop fanboying and check out what happened in this one :D
That is really not okay
