The scene with Tyrion and the dragons is one of my fave of the series.
'Supp! so good to see you again. ;-) I wrote a paper on Milesandre a few years ago for school. I explored if she was supposed to represent a Catholic Cardinal, Lady Margaret Beaufort (mother of Henry VII), or a witch. If you look up the art history of witches (mainly Germany) you'll find the depiction in this episode of GoT is spot on for witch. Personally, I believe she is a mix of all of these things because GRRM likes to make very dynamic characters, but it is the way these roles manifest and evolve on television which give us insight.
Oh, and the girl fighting/training Arya is simply known as The Waife.
‘Supppp!!!! Thank you so much. That sounds very interesting. I’ve always been interested in depictions of witches. No idea why, but from Salem to Sanderson Sisters and everything in between, I’m here for it.
The Waif! Thank you. Again, I get her role/function, but not a fan ;) That actress (like Iwan Rheon as Ramsay) plays the part too effectively.
Yaaaayyyy! (I may be back later, but …) Yyyyaaaayyyy! Couple of thoughts: I giggle each time I hear Davos say “ Help me get him inside” and then doesn’t lift a finger to help. The man knows how to delegate … Kudos to the actress who bared it all for a glimpse of old age Mellisandre. That was bolder than I’ll ever be … Not to be critical, but I got bored with Arya’s storyline ‘round about here, although it picks up big time later on … Loved the snippet of Eddie Rabbitt there in the middle … Bran indeed changed the most drastically of all the kids in the cast .. There’s a great Kit Harrington story about the time after he died on the show. He was stopped for speeding and the officer said he would let him off if only Kit would reveal the outcome of his death. Kit told, and the officer sent him off saying, “On your way, Lord Commander.” So glad to have you back with GOT! Peace …

@@DavidvsFilm Oh, it was. I mean, think of how hard it snows up North, then think that they probably don't ever clear the snow away from the walls all that often. Several inches of snow piling up for weeks. Whereas where Miranda fell, the snow is always cleaned off, so all she hit was the stone/hard-packed dirt ground.

The fifth book of the series ends with Jon Snow getting stabbed. That's it. There's also an epilogue where Varys shows up in King's Landing to kill off a minor character and let everyone know that he's on Team Daenerys (which we all should have known since he's the guy in the catacombs that Arya overhears in the first book/season). The show just has Varys go "oh hey, we are going to see the queen. She's cool"
I think the one person who has the biggest story arc in the series is Theon! Love/hate, love/hate!! Lol.. But from this season on i always wanna cry for him and gife him a big ol phat gurl hug!! Glad to see you guys back for my most favorite season of the series. My top 2 episodes are from this season 9&10. My #3 is Hardhome from season 5..
I was worried that Marc was refusing to keep watching, just like a lot of people wanted to quit after the joyless, miserable slog of season 5 (I don't care what people say about season 8, season 5 is BY FAR the worst season; it has no redeeming qualities, it's just horrific misery all the way through). My ex did that after the season 5 finale - she was just tired of feeling miserable every damn episode and wanted out. We split up before season 6 so I don't know if she ever did watch the rest.

Kit tells the story of how he was pulled over by a cop the cops says tell me if Jon Snow comes back and I won’t write you a ticket. So Kit nods his head, and the cop says on Your Way, Lord commander.

I am 1000% with you David on wanting to quit the moment they killed Jon. It’s no secret he is my absolute favorite, both on the show and in the books. When I read the chapter where he is attacked and stabbed I was angry crying so hard lmao. I didn’t want to continue at all. Only after a friend told me that they brought him back on the show I came back too lol.

As of the end of season 5 of GOT, everything except Arya being blind with the Faceless Men is as far the the books got. Also by this time many things have changed from the books and the show that they are very different stories now. They had to cut things down. The show would have ran for 10 or 12 seasons otherwise. In the last chapter of Jon was stabbed and lay bleeding out. Did he die? We don't know yet. That book, Dance of Dragons, came out 2011. Still waiting to find out . . . I still thing HBO paid GRRM not to put out any more books until the GoT show wrapped up.

Yeah I wasn’t sure exactly the extent of his involvement, amount of control, etc. I remember hearing (I believe) at the time, that he was involved in all discussions of major plot points and storylines for the final seasons, but I may but mistaken. I also thought I heard something about him saying that there would be some things that would intentionally be different in future books from the show, but I may but mistaken about that too ;) He better get cracking!

@DavidvsFilm yeah he seems to enjoy them alot & fyi, same w my guy too! I'll think there's no way he will watch a certain movie or show w me & then he does & I think surprises himself even that he likes it ( most recent being Fallout & Shogun). He did watch some GOT w me & of course, TWD & recent spinoffs, & I'd look over & he'd be so into them. I love when he tries to hide it at first, but as soon as they start he's glued in his seat. Can't hide ur love for these shows when u can go literally anywhere else in the house to any other TV even, but yet he's sitting next to me smiling, laughing, or gasping w eyes glued to the screen.lol ❤️💞❤️

I think it's easier to think Jon will come back seeing it now instead of at the time.
One- people know the show keeps going for more seasons. And it's reputation. Even if you dont know details.
At the time, people didn't know. Even the book people were stumped.
So many rumors. Personal and professional. And the time between - so much time to speculate.
I think if Marc had to take a break for a bit, that was a good natural point to do it.

They offered Lena more money to cut her hair, but she said no and suffered an itchy swim cap for her wig instead
Jorah was able to find the ring because the all the horses were circling Dany, which left a bare circle were she dropped the ring. The unknown girl training Arya is the Waif.😊
That makes more sense. Even though I know it’s edited heavily in the video, we saw/heard that whole scene and them discovering the tracks, but we didn’t catch that about the bare circle. Good point! Thank you for that and The Waif:)

It was actually the last thing to happen to his character in the books. George (the author) has just left us on a huge cliffhanger for 13 years now.
