Did this yesterday. It wasn't a bad experience. The process went smoothly. Doctor talked to me throughout the process. And the nurse patted me like a baby all the time. I am truly thankful to them. Everyone, don't get scared to do this.
It is unlikely that the patient dies. A small flexible tube is passed into the gastrointestinal with camera embedded on its tip. So, mortality rate of endoscopic examination is 0.06%. Subscribe my channel "Doctors Hub".
Hello, there is nothing scary about this procedure, if we are cooperative with them, the procedure will be over in five minutes.May be we feel like vomiting but it doesn't last a second Be brave there is no problem ❤
I've just had an endoscopy done today and I didn't even know it had been done until I questioned the nurse why did she give me sandwich when I was supposed to be fasting for an endoscopy (other than my headcap went missing and a nurse later told me she had it removed) and that she explained it had been done - I hesitantly ate it until the gastroenterologist came and confirmed to me that indeed it had been done :D
One does not need an endoscopy every two years. In fact upper endoscopy is something that needs to be done based on several factors. If you do not suspect, Barrett's esophagus, an endoscopy should only be done if the patient has symptoms of GERD, they are obese, smokers, male. In some cases a female never need an endoscopy at all. There is controversy even in the group that I mentioned. Given the symptoms and the above situations, an endoscopy is needed at best every five to ten years. Barrett's esophagus is the only exception to this generally accepted practice to make sure that patient does not develop a malignancy.
Just had this procedure preformed today, not a unpleasant experience. In and out in less than an hour. Worst part was finding a good vein for the intravenous...
i had this procedure done 4 days ago. they said a small polyp was removed but the doctor had gone to his next patient. the procedure was painless, but a day or two after i started getting discomfort in my stomach. it's been 4 days now and the pain seems worse than ever. going to call the doctor tomorrow. feels like i was punched in the gut. is this normal??? please help
Luxy Richards .if you are in USA, it's cake work. The hardest part, don't drink or eat past midnight. They give you sedative, 99.9999999% of the time ppl don't know
I'm having this done August first..at 8.30.am..tried of the spasm. an my stomach abdomen feels like I can't breathe sometimes feels like some is on my chest pushing me down..

Did you get it with anesthesia or not ?
I was given a sedative to help me relax through the process . And also a throat spray to numb the throat area. So I was awake the entire time.
@@PramadaPiyawardhana i dont want the sedative but definitely the throat spray
Endoscopy is a revolutionary procedure in the medical science history. It helps identifying early lesions of the gut and to treat them earlier!
Can a person die during procedure??

Yes, you are right. Sometimes, it is painful and awkward.

A painless endoscopy sounds great thankyou
My 6-year-old is having this done on Sunday, and I am so scared for him. He will be sedated and am believing God that he does not have the disease.
