Fuck me, I get on the train to go home after work everyday in a bitter mood, feeling sorry for myself that I don't have my own car, or a better paying job. Meanwhile the mere thought of having a home to return to at the end of the day is enough to bring this man to tears. I've got to stop taking all of this for granted, its unfair to people like him.
Cuzzints: You have a very adult and sensible outlook: good for you. I have to remind myself, when I get down, that I have it better than most folks, some of whom have a better outlook than I do, despite having less than me.
I'm the same way man. I can tend to complain alot on a bad day. Not even thinking about the fact somebody like Ronaldo Davis. wishes they could have my worst day.
If I was a millionaire, I'd find this guy, and give him a large sum of money. So much good in his heart. I know there are a lot of other homeless people, but he has the guts to tell his struggles to the world. God bless you man.
I can't always give money to everyone. I am poor als, but when I walk by a homeless man I try at least to say hello with a genuine smile. It's not much, but it's better than nothing.
Yea I feel this. I always make the effort to look panhandlers in the eye and at least tell them I can’t help them, sorry. It’s not much but it’s important
James 4:14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. What we do for our fellow human today is what will last for eternity. If you have Jesus Christ then explain to others how they maybe saved for eternity and give them substance for the soul and food/clothing for their body. If you do not have Jesus Christ please consider your life. Jesus suffered extreme beating and death for us all to save all humanity. We are eternal beings. Consider where you're going to spend your eternity. All it takes is saying a simple pray to Jesus and ask him to please answer any questions you have and to save you. It's a free gift He's given. It just takes asking. Please ask today. You may not have tomorrow. May you come to the saving knowledge of Jesus. Peace
I really hope they fall and crawl with their stomach and get stuck whiles they crawling and paralyze whiles they on the fucking floor !!!!!! Idiots !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This guy had so much impact on me. I will never forget him. I started look at things differently and started appreciating every simple thing in my life that we take for granted, that includes self respect also.
I drown in my tears every time I watch this. I wasn't homeless as long as he was but the pain was immeasurable. The loneliness, isolation, and hopelessness forever changed me. I would never wish it on anyone. I truly pray your resting in peace Ronald, I'm sorry for how life treated you
I don't cry very often, but this brought a tear to my eye. It makes me realize how easy I have put up an emotional wall between myself and the people that panhandle on the street. 4 minutes of him talking, and I wanted to give him his own house, a blanket, a suit and a job. I hope I keep this in mind whenever I encounter panhandlers on the street; not everyone is a scammer. I would imagine most are people stuck in a deep hole they feel they can't escape. I will help by giving my time and money.
This humble man's words will always be etched in my heart. Hearing what he said caused my heart to bleed with sadness and shame over how selfish I've been over the years. I pray that everyone is positively impacted by his words and learn how to treat people with kindness, love and respect. I have learned how to be more grateful for what I have been blessed with.
I'm glad for this man because he's able to say "God bless you!" even when life has gotten this hard. But I felt bad for all those with the negative comments Proverbs 17:5 Whoso mocks the poor reproacheth his Maker: and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.
This video brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it. They say charity begins at home, so why don't we do more to help the homeless here, we help other countries and I'm not saying we shouldn't just don't forget about this country. Like Ronald says all he wants is a roof over his head. Shame on us for not doing more…
This video touched my heart. I cannot express how much compassion I feel towards this man and the countless others that are in similar circumstances. This makes me want to accomplish great things in the world. To lift people up on their trials and to see the good in the world. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. And today it was put into my perspective that no matter what race, religion, or circumstance, we're all Children of Heavenly Father. Carry on in being noble
He end up scammed by people pretending to help him, using online videos to fund raise. They took thousands off him. He's still in Chicago with an empty cup. Disgusting. Look up on youtube Ronald's Davis Update, Chicago Homeless man
Well if that's the case, I'm sure he's paid his dues, he's on the streets, homeless, no money, stuck in the freezing cold of winter or the sweltering summer heat alone, no prospects for a better life. Not enough for you? Sure it's not. Must be fantastic being a Saint though. We all love Saints. Amen SISTA AMEN!!!
***** What is it exactly that he has done? Stole something, perhaps??? Let's air your dirty laundry while we're at it.. (John 8:7 - Let those who have never sinned, throw stones!)
nobody can understand their situation until go thru the same thing. You know, I can really understand what he's going thru cuz I was homeless for over 2 months with no family around , nobody. Sleeping in a complex apartment building which it was under remodeling at that time. But was winter time , so no heater , barely got eat. Then I accidentally met this girl at a supermarket entrence which happens to help me out on getting a part time job. From there the part time turned into full-time. After 1 month working there I finally got a apartment and everything else I needed. That girl is today my wife and we already have 2 beautiful girls and we are very happy. And everything stared just because she decided to give me a little help. A little help is all is needed to change someone's life forever.
Years later and this still hurts me. Especially when you know people are truly struggling to survive but some people are out there pan handling just to take advantage of kind hearted people and those people make it hard for people like Ronald to get the help they really need.
Yes, let us NEVER forget that 'There But For The Grace Of God, Go I'! AMERICA is too wealthy a nation with our hands HELPING OUT WITH CASH all over the world, for us to have a horrendous homeless problem here in our streets and on our soil! That is just shameful... CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME, AMERICA! AT HOME!
Seeing videos like this is completely heartbreaking. I wish with all my heart that this man and many others like him will be able to break free from these undeserving circumstances.
Is there another interview explaining in detail how he ended up homeless? I can't help but feel terrible whenever I pass by a homeless person who says, "God bless you" despite not getting anything in return. Prayers for this man and anyone suffering. Don't take anything for granted
Thank you for filming this! The homeless are often treated as if they are sub-human or parasites, but this gives everyone a golden opportunity to hear from someone homeless firsthand.
I can watch this video a zillion times, and still get emotional! A good thing social media found Ronald Davis. Hope i can shake hands with this man some day....
Can someone please contact Ronald for me I have a room I will let him have until he gets on his feet I live in nyc and will pay his ticket to get here or come get him my heart aches for this brother everyone needs help and goes thru stuff please someone if anyone can relate my message to him and let him know my offer somehow if we can speak can he set up a po box so I can send him stuff such as a phone clothes etc? Please someone
David Cedar you are ignorant! He is my uncle and he gave to so many and he was a Veteran. Keep thinking the way you do and see how far life takes you. God forbid you ever need help!
Wish I could feel compassion for this guy. I run a homeless shelter for 270 homeless in Dallas on the weekends. After 5 years of volunteering my time part time, eating lunches with them on breaks, driving them to hospitals and shelters, letting them come into my home, and now working with them full time, I can tell you that the problems are complex and personal. You need to do what you feel you need to do. If you feel like giving them money, give it to them. If you feel like feeding them, feed
This is SUCH a GREAT story, and it's very real and inspirational too ! I truly hope it inspires people to be grateful for what they have.I don't have much, but I would loveee to lend a helping hand to Mr. Ronald Davis. May God Bless You!
God bless this man. May he live his afterlife without struggle or hunger. May he never be lonely or alone again. Not hungry nor saddened. May he live an eternity of happiness and comfort.
How can this happen in the richest country in the world like a merica? Instead of starting wars and rebuilding other countries America should help it's people first
One way to do this is to abolish the laws requiring licensing for easy jobs, e.g., hair styling, etc. A homeless person could be taught to be a barber or hair stylist in no time, and if he / she didn't have to pay the absurd prices ($600 in Chicago to peddle wares!!!) for a license. Absurd licensure prices are a major reason why many folks who are homeless can't make a living, and afford even a flophouse.
Never heard of flop houses would’ve helped a lot while being homeless cause sometimes that’s all a person needs to keep ones head above water for a minute a chance to regroup. It’s a war to fight back to normal. Love this man and after hearing of his passing my heart is somewhat relieved because this man suffers no more. May God rest his soul in Paradise!
i understand that but he may die poor, maybe hes happy in some way, but Natur can give you food, and happynes ._. But we all have our way of doing things
If they do that, Government would be ousting them from the forest. At least, the Government would make them pay taxes (yeah, taxes to people who has nothing!!!). I'm not rich at all. I don't have money but when I have a sandwich or something, I give it to them. I can make one for me when I get home. I wish I could help them more.
Damn Rest In Peace. My older brother was homeless for about 5 years. He’s back with the parents still on drugs but I can see in my father how he’s just glad to have him off the streets. It’s a mental battle only he can face, and I hate what he’s done to himself, but I’m also glad he’s not living on the streets and hope he beats his Demons
I actually met Ron last Saturday night while walking home on Clark in lincoln park. We shared a meal at Angela's Burrito and he shared some incredible wisdom and a few stories with me. Wish this guy all the best. He is still out there in case anyone is wondering...
Well if the person is so proud and stubborn that they can't say thank you when they are begging for charity and have someone attempt to help them, then don't ask for anything at all. I say thank you to folks just for getting the door for me. I don't feel like "Oh, I didn't need them to do that, I could have done it myself" and blow them off. The man in this video exemplifies how far appreciation can get a person. Nothing is stopping one from learning to hunt, trap, build, gather, and grow.
I just saw the title and thumbnail of this one day and thought it would be interesting. I saved it to "Watch Later", and years passed. Finally reorganizing all of those 1800 videos, I finally watched this. What an amazing four minutes.
This man deserves a life, can't we as a society band together help our own countrymen and build ourselves up so that maybe, after all that hard work, we can move onto the world.
I never met Ronald Davis, but this video of him I have watched so many times, I cry every damn time. He really touched my heart and I only wish I could have helped him in some way. This video really resonates with me. 😢
This made me cry. I wish I knew how to get to him. I would help him. I hope if anyone that lives close to him and has seen this and now how to reach him give him a hand whether it be money, food, or clothes. Poor man my heart goes out to him. God bless him. My heart broke when he said he wish he had a home to go to. People should respect him and not bully him. At least he's surviving whatever way he can. No rich snob could do what he does they'd probably starve before begging.
I must of watched this video at least 6-10 times... I don't know why... he inspires me because even facing the situation he does, he tries harder then people who live decently lives...
It's because of thoughts just like yours that we still have people wandering the streets without a place to sleep and being treated like animals. It's because of people like you who have all this indifference for those who suffer in ways that we couldn't even imagine, because we never passed a situation like that. We live in a prosperous world, but not so prosperous in the consciousness way, because we still have a lot of ppl thinking like you, and this is the reason we still have ppl like him.
It is amazing! So many people email me with information about Ronald Davis and show great support! I want to thank everyone who tried to help this man in anyway! Keep up the good work!!!
this is easily the most touching thing i have ever seen before in my life. i feel so sorry for this ronald and all the rest of the homeless people in the world...
A World Changing Video, Love, Kindness, Beauty… Placing God 1st 🙏😌❤️, To All Of You Whom Left Beautiful Speechless Comments… Be Blessed, And Know All Mighty Is Always Watching Us..🙏😌🤲🏾
No dislikes? Faith in humanity parcialy restored. This man deserve more than that.. Erbody can see he is on streets because its his last and only choice.
All of us in the course of our daily lives sometimes lose sight that we are all human beings. We think that we are better than others because of what we have and because of what we do. This video has made me think.....
Someone sent this video to CNN because the world needs to hear what this man has said. " I am not a bum, I am a human being." All his words are completely true. Everyone in the world will need some form of help in their lifetime.
What have we become. Full respect to this man. I hope someone somewhere gives him a hand up. Remember a random act of kindness can sometimes change someone’s life. Please be kinder to each other for fuck sake
Before people start calling this man and others like him names, they should keep in mind that at one time he had a home and a job just like them. No one knows when a string of bad luck may come along, and with no one to help them, they could end up just like him. When he said that he feels bad because at the end of the day he can't be going home too, I teared up. He is absolutely right, he is a human being and deserves to be treated with respect.
This changed my whole perspective. I live in New York City and I see bums all the time. I used to give them money. Then my mother told me to stop because some of them aren't homeless their just pretending. I feel so bad for the people I've walked past, genuinely struggling that I've denied money. It's really sad on my part.
From reading ALOT of these comments, it has renewed my faith in humanity. It appears that there is so much evil in the world today. It's great to see that there are so many caring, good hearted ppl. By, Susan Mc...
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ - Matthew 25:31-46 for full version.
Sometimes we are so busy judging a person by what they do not have, that we easily forget the most important thing they do have-Human spirit. And for that we should love them in their situation. While money is required to help in many situations, kindness is free and accepted by most
Ronald I hope and pray for you brother. I wish I could help . Hang in there bro. There are still alot of Americans who love care and respect each other. I lost my job with my local union 5 years ago and am still trying . It sucks but stay with it man.I will keep you in my prayers. It is all I have left sorry. People can be so damaging and they do not know what painful trash they are saying or writing until they hear it for themselves or live it.
Thank you for YOUR understanding global and you are right Corina. That's why I don't give money to panhandlers. I buy them something. Yes, in my adopted city of Vancouver I've bought food for homeless people who ask for $, and paid for prescribed medication once. 98% turn it down if it's not cash. I've given similar advice to others & I like to think that rather than giving them a hand out, I gave them a hand up. That cheap phones are available is something I'd love to share with Ronald Davis.
this brought me to tears and whats really sad is that he's right us as a people dont aknowledge the homeless population as humans some only think of them as bums but they are human and they bleed and hurt the same way we do
I will keep you in my prayers too and make sure God shows you how great and holy he really is. I pray that he will get in your life and drown you in his love.
If you're the kind of person that prays for people, move this guy up your list. This video broke my heart and I'm just wishing this guy all the best luck in the world. Damn....
a very strong and determined man. I hope someone sees this and doesnt put somethign in his cup, but that they offer him a job. A step in the right direction.

Because people need to eat, and asking for change is how he can get by right now.
i understand that but he may die poor, maybe hes happy in some way, but Natur can give you food, and happynes ._.
TrojanDan16 Any chance you have seen him since? I came over for a holiday from Australia the Christmas of 15/16 but could not find him in Chicago.
He was beaten to death by a group of bums so I hear
Thank you so much for your support! And also thanks to anyone supporting him and my campaign!
This is where youtube becomes a powerful platform for spreading a touching message...
He’s dead now :(
This made me cry.
This brought me to tears. I hope that this guy now has a place to stay at almost a year on from when this video was published.
I really hope this man has had more support from this video, because everyone deserves it. We're human beings
A World Changing Video, Love, Kindness, Beauty… Placing God 1st 🙏😌❤️, To All Of You Whom Left Beautiful Speechless Comments… Be Blessed, And Know All Mighty Is Always Watching Us..🙏😌🤲🏾
I always treat people whether they be homeless, rich or poor with respect but this video made me cry.
Rest in peace man🙏 he deserve better place
What have we become. Full respect to this man. I hope someone somewhere gives him a hand up. Remember a random act of kindness can sometimes change someone’s life. Please be kinder to each other for fuck sake
God bless the people who created this video, God bless Ronald, and God bless Christina the ministry entending their help.
This made me cry I'm not afraid to admit it
Before people start calling this man and others like him names, they should keep in mind that at one time he had a home and a job just like them.
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ - Matthew 25:31-46 for full version.
Sometimes we are so busy judging a person by what they do not have, that we easily forget the most important thing they do have-Human spirit. And for that we should love them in their situation. While money is required to help in many situations, kindness is free and accepted by most
That was so beautiful and honest. It breaks my heart, though. It really did help me view the homeless in a different light.
I am motivated to be a more giving person after watching this. This was heartfelt.
this brought me to tears and whats really sad is that he's right us as a people dont aknowledge the homeless population as humans some only think of them as bums but they are human and they bleed and hurt the same way we do
my heart hurts, i feel so bad for him. :( hope things will get better for him!!!
It is nice to see another person with humility on youtube. It doesn't happen often!
You were a beautiful human being Ronald Davis. Rest in Paradise my friend 🕊
How do you know he passed away ?
@@porshprix4286 Google
@@chxrrybombz yeah I just found the article now.
Thanks.
This Is Why I Can't Just Bypass The Homeless , I Have To Give Something , Anything Counts . God Bless You Ronald ♥
I will keep you in my prayers too and make sure God shows you how great and holy he really is. I pray that he will get in your life and drown you in his love.
Im watching this video drinking a glass of clean water with a roof over my head. We should never take our blessings for granted.
If you're the kind of person that prays for people, move this guy up your list. This video broke my heart and I'm just wishing this guy all the best luck in the world. Damn....
People like you Ronald make me appreciate all I have I wish you the best of luck I believe you will get if the streets
a very strong and determined man. I hope someone sees this and doesnt put somethign in his cup, but that they offer him a job. A step in the right direction.
