I would like to know the story behind how Robbie met Dinner and Hillbilly, and how they got their nicknames. Those guys bust their butt! They deserve some upgrades to their rides. The way you guys donate your time for projects like these is AWESOME! ✌
This is the only paint videos on U tube that really, really explains the hard work and complex mixing of all painting problems. How to succeed in overcoming any problems in p and b work. Complete disassembly and reassemble of all parts of a vehicle. Thnx Robby and crew!
It's cool that you are reusing as much as possible of his Dad's truck. The same surfaces that his father touched and cleaned over the years he will be able to touch and clean himself. Considering the destruction and severity of the accident it really should have been a complete replacement BUT thats not the goal in this case. Well done Team Layton can't wait to see her handed back to this man's young son. Truly something special he can keep and hold onto for years and years of his Dad. Maybe even eventually find its way to a Grandchild that he will have never met.
Oddly enough a lot of the interior parts were salvageable and to me were the most sentimental because those were surfaces that his father touched often
Being a heavier man myself I love seeing how hard Dinner works which helps to disprove the misconception that heavy people are lazy. Dinner you're awesome attitude and work ethic are an inspiration keep it up buddy!!
There is just something about dinner that brings a smile to my face , and thats probibly the fact that he is always smiling . thank you dinner , you're a good man ..
I've never done any paint or body work, but I find it fascinating to watch you guys do your thing. Your videos are a combination of education and entertainment. I admire the fact that all of you are getting more and more comfortable on camera, too.
What I like about Robby and his crew is they're humble. It's SOOOOO common to find body guys that think they are the best to have ever graced the industry and they couldn't do anything wrong if they tried, and if there ever is a problem it was totally everyone else's fault and nothing to do with them. It's so refreshing to see a change in attitude
Be sure to swap that VIN plate over before the new windshield goes in, kid may run into issues down the road with a none matching VIN plate on the dash to the tag and title.
The truck is coming along nice. Very cool to see you guys use as much as you can man, even little things like the pedals and shifter his dad used everytime he drove it.👍
Great job just moving forward when the clearcoat died out & reusing old parts Aiden will be very appreciative & have his Dad's truck running awesome, thank's for sharing ❤😉👍
Awesome job guys. Can't wait to see more videos soon on this project. What you're doing is absolutely amazing. Love it. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friends. Fab on. Paint On. Weld on. Keep making. God bless.
You guys are just amazing in all aspects, I had lost all hope in their still being good people out there esp good people to work for after the last one I worked for and I see all the good yours and Matt's channel does for people esp yours for individual people.
A lot of work going on with the 4 man crew. There's so much work going into this job and when Dinner is taking things apart he's quick fast and in a hurry.
It’s amazing you can tear a vehicle down to the nubbins, and put it back together again. Really cool. Further, it seems all the guys are great and to dingle one out would be unfair, but… I have a lot of respect for Dinner. He knows stuff and has talent.
Another cool instalment in this worthy resto project. Never ceases to amaze me the lengths you go to & the detail & effort. Thanks for bringing us all along for the ride.
The old days back when we sprayed lacquer we called that blushing. If it was really humid outside spraying lacquer it would get a milky look to the paint. Wouldn’t buff out had to re-spray it.
You guys just keep being awesome! You're doing great things that will have a positive impact on many lives. Enjoy your videos and the humor. Keep them coming!
I know I'm late but i'm binging this series and really enjoying it. I love how your re-using as many parts as you can from the wreck. However I really really really wish you used a new wiring harness rather than a harness from a 30 year old truck. I like to build old cars and trucks, and I've had many over the years. I'm 50 and have been working on some sort of vehicle since I was 10 (lawn mower was my first). And nearly every problem I've ever had, including 2 cars burning to the ground, has been because I tried using old wiring instead of just replacing it. EVERY time I reuse an old harness I end up regretting it at some point. Reusing pars is great, but some things are best just replaced. Wiring being #1.
When I was in the body business I learned that you can insure a almost perfect bond on top of sanding if you spray a over reduced clear coat first then your base. If you reduce it 2 to 1 it's almost like spraying etching primer over bare metal. The bond is great and I never saw a problem with that.
Robbie you must put yourself under a lot of pressure with these community jobs, I say that because you know there is gonna be a lot of interest in them just like the golden nugget. So everything you do will be under scrutiny by maybe millions of people, that's a lot of pressure for anyone. So hats off to you guys I'm a big fan 👍😎😎😎
I’m working on my 1990 obs Chevy 4x4 I wasn’t going to paint it till I started watching y’all now I took my hole front clip off and started sanding the fenders and doing the prep work then going to paint it back to factory medium red metallic paint I put new sound system and new motor, looking for a transmission it has the th400 and I want to get rid of it I need over drive lol
Amazing amount of work on rebuilding the truck! I'm curious if the truck will require a "branded title". It has the same frame and engine, so I hope it can maintain it's original title?
So happy to see how much you care about Getting The truck just right, my daughter has a 69 Camaro we were getting restored for her when she was 15 now 32 the car is still unfinished they damaged the hood after it was painted and damaged around 5he tail lights paint flaming off the tail lights haven even been put on. Big chunk out of the hood all seen before it was take. To get new headliner put in $12.000 yes jest to paint it. Ugg $34.000 later we pulled it no motor or transmission and no interior done. Heartbreaking 💔💔💔💔we had someone else do all the Chrome. It will prob sit unfinished.
Crazy how many people recognize my Robby Layton shirt .. everyone loves the golden nugget and it kinda confirms that this is in fact Robby Layton Nation. If you don't have one you're missing out.
Thank you for another great video. Sure glad to see Cody in the same shirt as Robby because he also has top tier skills. Dinner and Hillbilly also have their own specific skills and that is what makes the four of you a great team. It seems like Cody is always absent on the adventures. Maybe he is needed in the shop because of his skills. I just don't know. It would be nice if you could clarify why and his shop duties in a future video. Stay safe healthy and happy 👍
The Heater Core is a complete dash removal job.Would you please replace it now so it doesn't break soon and need to possibly ruin the work you're doing?

I think they are all childhood friends, or at least grew up together.
@@4wheeling I thought Dinner was Robbies brother?
@@harlech2 the guy who is the editor is his brother. I don’t think Dinner is.
Go back thru the videos. There is a meet the team video that explains all
@@briankirkpatrick8734 Thanks! I'll check it out

Dinner is getting more comfortable in front of the camera. Love his little hula dance at the end.
Yep. He's also a very capable assembly/disassembly guy too, knows his stuff very well, I couldn't do 1/4 what he can!
You can never have enough Dinner!! More Dinner...PLEASE!!!❤😂😂😊

"I only make magic when I'm with you, Dinners my homie" freaking quote of the day
Great job guys....very informative....great to watch the whole team work together....thanks to the Boss for filming and editing
Nice to see a craftsman take pride in his work
These Utah guys are amazing! Very little foul talk. Good conversation and talent in putting things back better than new.
Dinner is fully committed to doing a "Job Well Done"! Nice Job Dinner! What a Great Crew! Thanks for the video!

I like seeing what can go wrong sometimes. There`s so many factors in a good paint job.
After all this time, I'm still amazed by how much work you'll put into a project. I'm lazy, I'd be looking for shortcuts everywhere. 😂
Is this where we lazy gather with our cheetos whilst watching Robby work?
Can't use shortcuts in paint and bodywork you're just asking for trouble then
looking good men

Dinner go back to pointing in a different direction than everyone else. It made it you, and intriguing to see what you would do each video
Great Dinner show So many people doing different jobs at the same time how you figure out where it all goes later
Aiden is going to have better truck when you are finished.
Seeing how y'all work around unforeseen challenges is always interesting.
Wow Adians truck is looking good can't wait to see it done
Imagine putting that harness in 450 plus times a day like we do on the assembly line.
Good job guys 👍🇺🇸
She's comin' along fellas!
Suggestion for a deep clean for vacuuming…use a muscle vibrator on the carpet & you’d be amazed @ the more dirt & glass particles you’d get up
happy to c it being put together! keep up your good deeds!!!!!!!!! your kindness is spreading ...
Blessings all. Great work, video and jokes! Thank you for a great time at the shop.
