Oh Roy, I love how different our tastes our in films 😅 but we still find some middle ground. I really like the wedding singer 😅 and mechanic and 1st Meg, but probably wouldn't be too worried about the rest. Really enjoy hearing ur views in them though mate 😁👍🏻
@popcornandhorror 😆 we all have our own tastes. I might slag a film off but always respect if someone likes it. 👍 It's all very much tongue in cheek. 😆
Hi Roy, that Conjuring set is a great space saver, The Conjuring 2 is my favourite too, I’ve also had many a spooky encounter in a house I grew up in (it was built in 1720 and was a former school with a brick up cellar 😬) I watched The Wedding Singer last week, I can only assume your not a fully paid up member of the Adam Sandler fan club 😆 The Great Lie sounds very good 🧐 I’ve not seen the original And Soon The Darkness but did see the 2010 remake. I need to import the original Stagecoach Roy, I’ve seen it decades ago so need to revisit it. I also rewatched The Meg, it’s ridiculous but fun 😆 Nice one mate, take care👍😃👍
@kermitsghost hello Alan. Where we lived when I was a small boy my mother and elder sister both woke up to a lady stood at the end of their beds and one night I was certain someone yanked my leg in the middle of the night. That house is not far from where I live now but I always take an alternative route if I'm out walking 🤣 My Bette Davis watching keeps getting better and better. To think some folk refuse to watch black and white films!
I recently watched And soon the darkness too and really enjoyed it, i have discovered so many great films through the Vintage classics collection 😊 i also just picked up that Stagecoach Blu-ray, it arrived today so haven't watched it yet but i can't wait 😊
@spoonermum yes I've become really fond of the vintage classics too. I've even made a studio canal section in the collection now. 😊 I'd love to hear your thoughts when you've seen Stagecoach. I thought it was incredible 👍
@roybarratt5609 me too, it's getting to be quite a big section now . I will definitely let you know ☺️ I'm a new subscriber and really enjoying your videos ☺️
Great video as always Roy 😀🍿🎸🎶 Sounds like you are a big Adam Sandler fan; could I request a Top 10 Sandler films video mate 😂👍 I did rewatch ‘Reign Over Me’ on Tuesday; excellent drama with Sandler & Don Cheadle; one of his more serious roles; really good film 😊 I do like ‘The Wedding Singer’; its a cheesy corny time; sounds like it’s become one of your all time favourites mate 😂🤣 Love ‘Uncut Gems’; hope we get a 4K Criterion over here in the U.K 😀👌 Love to see the original ‘Stagecoach’ even more so after your high praise about it Roy mate; Warren is a big fan of it aswell 🤠🍿🎸🎶 Have a fantastic weekend bud and keep up the amazing work as ever 🙌
Glad to hear you got on well with And Soon The Darkness.. big favourite of mine 😎👍 And would love to hear your horror top 10 when you get chance matey 👍
@thewickerman4083 hi Mr Wickerman thanks for subscribing and glad you're enjoying my waffle. A top 10 John Ford could be a shout 👌 There's quite a lot I still need to get to quite a few. Especially the war films. He had such a vast and excellent filmography.
Hi Roy. Great to hear you enjoyed And Soon the Darkness. If you want to see another film with Pamela Franklin, I think you might enjoy The Legend of Hell House….Ive just been on a flight and many of the guys that I could see sitting around me went straight to Statham as their first in flight movie (both The Beekeeper and the Expend4bles)….Ive seen (but don’t own) the Criterion print of Stagecoach and it is indeed a great transfer, much better than my laserdisc copy!
@neilsmoviechannel3199 hello Neil thanks for that recommendation. Pamela was fantastic in that film and deserved in my opinion to go on to far more recognisation. I'd like to upgrade to the Stagecoach criterion but they're a pretty penny on ebay.
Fantastic stuff Roy, a movie a day keeps the boredom away. Conjuring 2 is the scariest movie in the franchise imo. Sounds lucky I can't remember The Wedding Singer as think I seen it years ago. Other than Snatch and Lock Stock I don't really like any Jason Statham films although The Beekeeper looks interesting, keep up the good work matey
Great video Roy, definitely agree that The Conjuring 2 is up there with the first and I may just prefer it over the first like you. The third one definitely dips in quality a bit but is still a good watch. At least you gave The Wedding Singer a go, I personally enjoy Sandlers comedy but I know he definitely isn't for everyone. The Mechanic is a decent action film, not one I would be inclined to go back to, and rewatch personally, but it's a serviceable action film. The Meg is pretty good as well but not his best like you said. I haven't seen any of the others. Hope you are having a great week.
Conjuring 2 is my fav too. Remember the events from the actual time so it has that nostalgia thing too. Though the Americans have a strange idea about English council houses. Basement me arse! With you about A Sandler, can’t stand the fecker! Think I must check out some Bette Davis sometime, have only seen a handful of her output 👍
A week of highs and lows there Roy! I know you're not the biggest Sandler fan, but I have quite fond memories of The Wedding Singer and I wondered if it might be one you'd enjoy, though it's been years since I saw it. I'm glad I didn't comment that now 😂 I'm only vaguely familiar with And Soon the Darkness, but it sounds like a great mystery and right up my street, I'll have to seek it out. Also heartily agree about Stagecoach, it immediately became one of my favourite westerns. Some of those stunts looked wild and terrifying because you know those guys were really doing it! I've got the Criterion, and I'm not sure the transfer is better than the German release, (it might even be the same), as I was reading up on it and apparently there were a lot of difficulties in the restoring process, so it seems we're lucky to have it as good as it is. A true classic!
@goosesmovies hi Warren yes when the stuntman was jumping from horse to horse it was absolutely terrifying. I thought that maybe it maybe the same transfer. From what I've seen of public domain streams they've done wonders to get it as it is. Have you got a copy of The Wedding Singer as I know it's quite rare now. If you haven't you're welcome to my copy.
@@roybarratt5609 Thanks so much for offering Roy, that's incredibly kind of you! Take the cex credit though for sure. I have an inlking I might not appreciate it as much on a re-watch, so I think I'll just keep hold of the memories 😄
Hi Roy, I really like the first two Conjuring movies & some of the best modern horror movies for me, the original slightly better but nothing really between them, of course the second has a UK interest as it took part in Enfield, the real story behind in, i do need to upgrade my "Stagecoach" edition to the criterion U.S release. The remake of "The Mechanic" is okay, but it doesn"t measure up to the Michael Winner-Charles Bronson version for me, some great watches Roy .
@eastwood4lifefan334 cheers Carlos. I need to check out the Bronson Mechanic. I will stick it on my lengthy wishlist 😆 I bet the Criterion Stagecoach will have great features. My German copy is very barebones but a decent transfer
@@roybarratt5609 I like all types of humor to be honest, intelligent and stupid. And when there’s a mix of both in the same movie, that’s what I really enjoy.
Hi Roy, would you believe i have never watched a single Conjuring universe film, am i missing out?. I do have And soon the darkness in my watch pile, hopefully giving that a go soon. I need to get myself a copy of Stagecoach , i think i was a child the last time i watched that one. I actually didn't mind The Meg, i like that he tried to go a bit differently with his movies. My favourite Statham movie is Safe, excellent action film mate.
@bushmanblu426 hello Mark I've only seen the 3 Conjuring films so still have The Nun and Anabelle films to go. I've enjoyed them so far. Good spooky stuff. I have Safe. Is that the one where he's protecting the Little Girl? That one was a good one.
ps did you know that The Mechanic is a remake of a Charlie Bronson/Michael Winner film? Check it out if you like your gritty 70s action flicks!
I did discover that the other day. Definitely a film I need to check out 👍
