  • Folger conservators and interns construct a Karibari board, a type of Japanese drying panel used to control the drying process of flat artifacts as part of a conservation treatment. Filmmaker Zacarias Garcia captures this labor-intensive process, which happened over seven days in the Folger's Werner Gundersheimer Conservation Lab, with an overview by Andrew Hare, Supervisory Conservator of the East Asian Painting Conservation Studio at the Smithsonian Institution's Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery.
