  • Modifying the front suspension on my 2022 Super Duty from the stock 5600lb Ford springs to 7000lb Ford springs utilized on the F450’s and F550’s. This modification lifted the front end of my diesel about 1.25 inches over stock. This improved the ride quality of the truck keeping it flatter while cornering and decreasing front “diving” with hard braking.
The part number for the replacement spring is: 5C3Z-5310-AA. This swapped out perfectly on my 2022 F350 diesel without modification.
For my vehicle, this did move the axle about 0.5 inches out to the driver’s side requiring re-centering with use of an adjustable track bar.

I have a 22 F350 Platinum and I installed a Carli Commuter kit which has taller front coil springs and I also had to install the 17-19 factory 3” block. You need to also order the longer U bolts that are used in the 17-19 trucks. The block part number is HC3Z-5598A and B. The U bolt part number is HC3Z-5310-E. I had the dealer look up a longer U bolt and order them for me and I installed them and the nut was flush with the bottom of the threads with no threads left over and I wanted some extra thread left so I found a VIN # from a 19 F350 and had to buy a second set of U bolts so I learned the hard way and paid twice.

Thanks for the comment and information! I actually ordered and installed the blocks with new u-bolts a few days ago. I did the same thing...pulled the Vin of my 2018 F350. Couldn't believe the cost of those u bolts haha. I'll have a video of that soon. I also went ahead and ordered an adjustable track bar...the increase in ride height was enough to shif the axle out of center...not a huge amount, but enough to make me want to address it.

If the springs are not turned against the bottom stop will they make noise? My 2022 is making a strange knock over bumps on the drivers side and i noticed the spring on the bottom mount is not turned against the stop? About 3/4”

I'm not sure if that would cause a knocking sound. Is there a space on the passengers side too? I would probably check that first before going through the process of turning the driver's side.

What adjustable track bar did you go with for this?

I went with the Rough Country. So far so good...

Do you like the ride more? Bouncy or harsh? I was considering getting the 6000# but now am considering the 7k. Any death wobble issues? Did you add caster shims?

Are you running a diesel or gas? I actually prefer the ride now..I don't notice any difference as far as the ride being "harsher." With the stiffer springs the truck stays flatter while cornering and doesn't seem to "dive" as much with the weight transfer while braking. I did have to install an adjustable track bar because of the increased height.

I have a 2023 longbed diesel fx4. Not really interested in a level kit and don’t want anything larger than 35’s so the heavy load springs giving anything from .5”-1” is nice to take a bit of rake out.

@johnrosebushjr8249 Yea, that was my thought too. Also decided to put the larger blocks in the rear so the truck didn't look like it was sagging when I tow. Good luck with the mod... keep in mind you may have to add a track bar depending on how much height you get.

Did you need caster shims? What track bar did you end up with?

    • @theroyboys2

@@johnrosebushjr8249 I did not need shims. I ended up going with the Rough Country adjustable track bar. So far, so good.

7000 lbs spring dont make it to rough on high/low speed bumps?
Track bar will be neccessary change it?

    • @theroyboys2
      @theroyboys2  Год назад

Not too rough at all...actually keeps it more level in turns and reduces the "dive" cornering and braking. Yes, for mine a new track bar was needed because of the increased height

Did you notice your alignment being off after changing the springs?
