  • I want to share with you what the change was which made it possible for me to overcome my weed addiction.
Quitting smoking and giving it up for good can be a life-long battle. I know it took me 8 years before I finally found a way to give up my worst habit.
Being trapped in that cycle of, when you're high you wish you were sober and when you're sober you wish you were high. That's the fastest way to never be happy with your state of mind.
That's why I'm going to be more active on this channel and serve as an example of someone who quit smoking weed and is now giving back to the community.
I understand how difficult it is. I've been there. Reach out to me if you need help. Maybe we can support each other as we progress to becoming that person we always dreamed of being. The best versions of ourselves start with a sober mind! So start today!

I am 67 days clean after 9 years of daily chiefin! Never looking back, always looking forward! Saw your video "3 things you must do to quit smoking weed" years ago, have tried quitting several times...Was finally able to break the habit 67 days ago. I am free.

Damn! That's awesome, Matt! Holy moly 67 days is incredible. Am on day 31 here and I know I'll never go back because I saved up for 8 months and moved away to a brand new city a month ago. Don't know anyone here and don't want to either. Have a pregnant wife and baby on the way so have a reason to push through.
Def agree on the have tried quitting several times, 5th time was the charm though. Feels so freeing right? Suddenly not a slave to constantly having to have or if not massive stress and anxiety for being without, that was the worst. It's gone now. No more torture. We are liberated my friend. Although personally I'll never be able to be around it. Can't moderate at all so must stay free and have a clean environment. Thank you for taking the time to comment and share. It's motivation to continue. Day 67 sounds beautiful :)

Thanks for the kind words, helps keep me motivated my friend! I really believe once we've been hooked, the deep rooted habits embedded in our brain never go away. I saw these kids with a vape pen drive by, I made the motion of smoking with a vape pen and they started yelling me prices. I don't know why I even made that smoking motion.
I know every fiber in my being wanted to smoke, after they drove off after a few minutes I thought why the heck did I do that smoking motion. Why did i want to smoke so badly. Me personally I'm an addict and always will be which is why I have to be so careful now with my sphere of influence and not associate myself with smokers or i'll have to move again and start over. That's just my opinion though. Maybe others have more willpower or something idk weed is my kyrptonite.

I've never tried weed yet. But that's why videos like these are so useful. Because the best way to quit weed is to never try it to begin with.
Those who would say trying it a few times won't hurt you, are wrong. I mean how would I know if am one of those 9% of the population or not? How would I know it beforehand?
I did manage to try alcohol though. I think I am going to ditch this one soon too. But it'll definitely be harder than weed at this point.

Shit, thinking about buying a G right now 😔 you depend on it so much that it ends up being so emotionally invested. I gotta quit.. BUT FUCK ! I’m young ! I’m 18 & from HOUSTON. How the fuck do I do this yo 🥺

    • @BetterYouNow
      @BetterYouNow  5 лет назад +1

Man, the heart attack actually could be related to weed. I had so many heart palpitations when smoking. The thing is being high increases the amount of blood flow in the brain by four times. This puts so much strain on your heart. Here's a direct quote from Harvard which you can Google by searching, "Smoking weed heart problems". It's the first link.
"Research suggests that the risk of heart attack is several times higher in the hour after smoking marijuana than it would be normally"
My friend died from a heart attack after eating a brownie. He had heart problems since a kid and my dealer sold him edibles one day. He died a couple hours later and I always knew it was the edibles. My ex dealer was in denial saying, "poor guy". I don't want to scare you but if you have a heart condition that should be plenty motivation to quit man. For real, just research on Google.

As for quitting. I had to leave my environment. I never could quit on my own. I may sound weak but I took the intiative to leave my city and start a fresh life to quit. I think that takes some strength. Although I feel I failed for not being able to quit on my own. That's why I recommend moving away bro. Delete the numbers of everybody who smokes. Throw away everything weed related. That's how you can change your environment without leaving. Make it not easy accessible for your brain. Next try to find new friends who encourage sobriety. I personally started playing "Magic the Gathering" with people who I would have considered as nerds in the past. They know nothing about weed so it works for me and I only go once a week.
Try using CBD to take away cravings. That shit works. Use Melatonin to sleep. Valerian Root to stay clam during the day. Eat yogurt, fruit, small meals of simple foods every 2 hours. That should cover cravings, insomnia, irritability, and lack of ability to eat.
Get support too! There's the "Leaves reddit" group, just google that. It's the first link. Tons of people like ourselves wanting to quit or quitting and sharing their progress. They offer tons of support for people like us. Am proud of you for acknowledging it's a problem, that's the first step my man! Hopefully this little guide helps :)

It was tough for a little while, but I got through it with some help from my family and friends. Imagine you're already done. If you can trick your mind into thinking you've already quit. You won't crave it. Just keep telling yourself you have quit, soon your mind will know it, and your body's will follow suit. Trust, you can do it.

I live in the Netherlands so i had the same problem as you. If i wanted to smoke i went to the shop and just bought it. The one thing that helped me was, that i didn’t make excuses any more. You can only blame yourself for smoking. I told everyone i wanted to quit, wrote down the benefits of quitting and just started. The first week is really hard but you will feel the benefits right away. I felt more energetic, saved more money, lost weight, started working out, had better grades at school, and just felt proud that i finnaly had quit the bad habbit. Just think about why you are smoking. Because it feels good? Believe me, quitting is the best decision you wil ever make. I have quit for 1 month now and i feel so much better than the past 8 years of smoking daily. I still have moments that i want to smoke but everytime i have that urge i look at this kind of videos to remember why i quit at the first place. My life changed for the better and if i can do it, you can do it as well. I hope this will help you.
