As someone who has lived 67 years, I think we must learn to be open to whatever life throws at us, to be adaptable and to make the most of our present circumstances. In reality, there are few things in life over which we have control. Be in the present. Walk in gratitude. Know the difference between being alive and living. Young woman, you are seeking something. You will find your way to it. I am enjoying observing you in the process of becoming, being born. Realize that you are never truly alone. Sometimes it is best to let go and just let life happen as it will. This land has a spirit. If you are open to it, it will permeate your soul and change you.
I love that you were so transparent about what you are dealing with. I never thought about getting motivated / excited the way you described - that was very helpful. I wish you the best as you continue the journey.
Another enjoyable video. Valley of fire is one of my favorite places. If everyone loved to hike and explore the natural world, what a more peaceful and harmonious world it would be.
So sorry your original plans got cancelled, but you have a great attitude about it all and are showing us, in a concrete and beautiful way, how to make lemonade out of lemons. 👍. Thank you and well done. 👍👍👍
Being a wildlife enthusiast, you never fail to disappoint. The Desert Big Horn Sheep exuded an aura of wildness while augmenting the esthetics encountered which may have been missed if not for your change of plans.
I am SO glad you wound up with that alternative, rather than staying at a rest area, in the car, etc. I've started looking at camping as an alternative for all my solo travel plans (harder to pull off with the family). Not that 2020 has been a great work-travel year, but I've had a number of opportunities to ditch the hotel and spend a night outside. Lots of options open up when you've got the skills and experience, thanks for showing that reality, and being flexible!
I'm sorry your friend cancelled. I can't tell you how many times friends and family have cancelled last minute, but a blessing always replaces the disappointment in small and big ways. I'm so glad you got your sunshine on. Thank you for sharing your heart, transparency and humaness.
I stumbled upon Valley of Fire state park when on my way from Vegas to Zion (via the Lake Mead road). It is an awesome park, to me it should be a National Park.
Such rugged looking country, amazing colours and no people how peaceful, I prefer the warm to the cold, thank you for sharing stay safe cheers from Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Your very best Video yet. Life lessons. Keep it up . You are doing great. Thanks for sharing your adventure in self discovery. Be brave and stay strong.
I’ve been watching your vids for a long time (back when you just a tagged along with Catherine)and never commented but I wanted to tell you....YOU ARE AWESOME! To take the opportunity to experience this life like you have and are, is inspiring. I KNOW it’s hard but you are making everyday count and for that...I commend you. Stay safe and thanks for sharing. 😊
Thank you so much! :) I'm glad to hear from you. Also, I hope you don't take offense by the correction but there's a misconception that I've "tagged along" with people in the past when I in fact lead the charge on getting out by planning and coordinating our first trips.
Sorry. I didn’t mean that as a negative. I must have seen her vids first then yours after so I assumed. Sorry again. It was just to say it was a long time ago.
Hello Christine, thank you for sharing another beautifully filmed, informative and entertaining video. You did a fantastic job on this one. The very best of good things for you every day. Stay safe and healthy out there. 🤗
What a great adventure, I think. From the snow and ice of the high mountains, down into the desert. And, WOW, all the bighorn sheep, that's amazing. A, change of plan, but and new adventure. I, think its fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
Sorry about your cancelled plans, but you made lemonade out of lemons. You are fortunate to be live close enough to visit Valley of Fire without too long a drive. II was there in May 2018. Beautiful rock formations! I didn't even know it existed when I visited the area; a tourist information person in the Kingman Visitor Center told me about it on my way from Las Vegas to William. I would love to visit it in February when it was not so hot and there were fewer people around. It looked so peaceful in your video.
Great impromptu vid, Christine!! Yep, one of those 'Forrest Gump' moments.... 'Like a box of chocolates....!' Yeah, those coffee stands are bad for you.... and your wallet!! Take care, Girl....
This was a great break for me from the Utah winter. I remember the cold, long winters of Alaska quite well so I have an idea of what you're experiencing in Canada.
Coffee is coffee as long as it keeps us warm when this cold weather like that.!! Starbucks is way to pricey!!! Love valley of fire. The shower stall i love it.!! Be safe always
Yep slept at south Kanarraville Rest Stop more than once before Zion hikes . North bound much nosier . Also like South St George Walmart for overnighter Btw Snow Canyon State Park has beautiful hiking and great campsites though it has a $15 entrance fee Great hikes Check out Johnson Canyon Arch trail Awesome Arch You don't have to pay entrance fee to hike that canyon
Beautiful video and thoughts shared.. Do you ever worry about Bob cats, Mountain Lions or snakes? Are you prepared if something like that should arise? Only asking because I’m preparing to go out on the road myself.. ♥️🌹♥️
Great scenery! Love following you on your destinations!!! 2 questions, what kind of coffee do you usually drink...... And where does one get that funnel for holding the filter and grounds to brew? Thanks and stay safe!
My favorite is usually a high-quality single origin from Costa Rica. I also really like the brand Stumptown. I bought this pour-over funnel at a grocery store. It makes for easy clean up. :)
Love your video's keep it up.. Since this Covid crap came up your post have made me feel like there's more of the World too see! Keep up the good work! Awesome video. Sorry to see your stepping down to Folgers! Nothing wrong with Folgers but how can I donate some coffee from back home? Maybe Kona macadamia nut?

Sucks that your friend cancelled but I am glad you were able to still enjoy yourself. If you are ever in the area again and need a back up friend, send me an email!
At 13:39 and 14:12 ... the romantic in me wants to believe the hole is where wishes are made & a stone left as an offering. While the pile is where the wish fairies store wishes granted. The bigger the rock in the pile, the more magic it took to fill up the wishing stone and grant the wish.
Thank you and no. After this trip I've decided that I need to cover them before going out again. I felt a little exposed while trying to read in my vehicle at night.
@@nomad_unknown Haha yeah I bet. I ended up going with sunshades from Weather Tech. They design them for your vehicle. Not a great insulator but great for privacy 👍
Hi Jim! I do have some small sources of income (including RUclips as one). I also have some savings that helps me make ends meet as needed. Generally I live very frugally and analyze each expense.
I'm pretty experienced with cross-country travel in the outdoors so I don't worry about getting lost. I keep a keen eye out on situational awareness and set visual bearings. Using an app like AllTrails can be helpful if you don't have this level of experience. In this environment, I was never too far from a road (I could hear the occasional car passing) and so when I ended up doing some off-route exploring (not included in the video) I just kept the road noise as one of my bearings and ended up walking back on it.

Wow, you have some serious video skills. I camped solo near Overton this time last year. Thanks for sharing it.
Wow. Valley of Fire - I could actually “feel” that land. The spirit of that place combined with your life lesson, fed my soul.
I'm so glad to hear that!

I think Mic said it best, You can't always get what you want, but sometimes y'all will get what you need. . . Loved the video!

You got that right!
Totally agree. I've had a plan and it was cut short so slept in Walmart parking lot before haha 🤷♂️
Hey ..I really like to join you on those adventures!

The best part of waking up, is Folgers in your cup! : - )
Amen to that!! 😊🙏
Amazing landscapes you share!
I love the red colored hills. You are so bubbly too you make me smile:-) Keep safe 💓💪

Well I would say that you made most of your changed plans. Thanks for sharing your trip. Hope the coffee gets better.
Your videos keep getting better and better Christine! You know how to tell a great story. I'm curious about that pile of rocks @14:25. What the heck?
Thank you and 🤷🏼♀️ Haha! Not sure about the rocks...
Your videos have a very relaxed vibe and do a wonderful job capturing the beauty of land. Looking forward to more...

I really loved your videos!
Gorgeous landscape, but I'm with you and your inquisitive tilt of the head at that pile of rocks; why are they there, and who put them there??? 🤔
I can only guess that water carried them there but I wonder when?

The new JetBoil! Is that the new sponsor you hinted about in one of your past episodes? ;)
Haha! Yes. I worked with them on a previously sponsored video but of course will continue to use the stove.

Sweet dreams Christine
another wonderful video. love all your vlogs, i just would like to know how you manage to live your life style with no source of income?
