In the span of like... 3 months Jon has quickly moved to the top of my list for favorite artists. Loved him from the moment I first heard him and this song is just about as beautiful as they come.
the piano / harmony / his voice melody and lyrics evey notes played crushed my mind and emotion i can sing his song but i cant play intruments the way he does .... love you man !!

So much better than the album version. Nothing against Sara Bareilles. She's fantastic. But I just didn't like the production on their duet. It was like, two great artists and a great song ruined by a bad arrangement. I wish I could get the audio for this version on my iPod, but I have no idea how to do that.
Weird, it seems Jon never really embraced this (original) version of the song. His official outlets only promote the duet version. It works way better as a solo, a paean about the ultimate summer fling, drenched in lonely nostalgia. The Sarah version is more of a "breakup" feel, and it loses a lot of meaning.
