I don’t like the implications of only 9 whips… it hurts me that there are so few that it’s almost double in this update… but it’s still a good thing that new whips are added… so👍

Honestly at this point terraria and star dew are the face of that love award the one steam gives out to games that go above and beyond for their love and dedication to their game(s) and the fan base around them
the way re-logic is treating its game and fanbase always makes me feel so good. they don't care about money or anything like that, just making us happy
Honestly, I think the thing is that they're *not* specifically trying to please the fans. They're making things that *they* really love and enjoy working on, which is why this stuff ends up so polished and amazing. Ofc they love working with their community, but it's like... there's a difference, yknow? A lot of companies get that wrong and end up pandering to the fans, and making stuff that's hated as a result. But that's what I love relogic for, they really and truly love working on their game and they just make whatever they think is fun. And it ends up amazing for it, because you can really feel the passion and the effort that goes into every last detail
@@Zichqec Agreed completely. Its cool how many character items there are, from the developer sets, to the Lilith's Necklace, they all show how much the devs care for their game. Its very nice how many of the mod communities share those attitudes.

@@ItsAlpaI mean, we are getting the mushroom boy summon from the dead cells collab. I don't think it was confirmed to be prehardmode but in the recently released beta footage it was used against king slime. We were also shown several whips. The crimson and corruption one are early game (not sure if they are pre or post evil boss though) and there's the starcrash, presumably from meteorite

I know summoners are getting alot of whips but I would still like a Queen Bee whip to work with the hive pack and hornet staff.
What if the hive pack buffed the hornet staff? I think that would be a neat interaction

@@savag I know, it's just not something I regularly think of, nor remember, so it was a nice surprise.
The idea is likely to make it so summoners have a actual choice in there play through. You can chose between 2 or 3 great weapons for a boss like every other class, instead of what always felt like 1 during a summoner play through. Also putting the number of whips closer to the number of yoyos (17:21)

My vanity slots are crying rn. There's just so many good vanity items in this game!
Honestly, I think they rely a little too heavily on accessory slots to do their changes, such as with the new sounds. This isn't an attack on their design, and I'm grateful that the devs put so much love and attention into their game and community (i.e. don't come at me just because I have a differing opinion), but I think I would have preferred it if the new voice lines and sounds were all purely centralized to the character creation setup menu. Maybe you could "unlock" new ones by doing challenges in a game - like if DelusionalMerg wants that quack sound, they have to find a now-new-mob "the human quacking duck", catch it, cook it, and eat it. Do so and you permanently unlock that voice line to your character voice lines list. Not all of them have to be available initially, but a large portion of them are.
And I can see and understand how and why some might be accessory based, like needing a robotic doodad to get like robotic beeping and gear noises or some such, or the Radio Thing for Don't Starve instrument toots. But we only get so many accessory slots for vanity (or otherwise) and it's hard to make a character with the design I want if I also need all these other things to make them have the sounds and transformations and clothes and ears and tail and legs and world filters and whatever else they have or will be adding.
That's just my thoughts. I'm not a member of their site or anything, so my thoughts won't likely reach them. But I hope others feel similarly and have shared them over there.

Kinda sucks to use the same few items the whole game tho. In Terraria it's really fun to keep upgrading your stuff

They're laying the groundworks for a zenith whip, i can feel it.
Imagine if that was a thing. That'd be so cool, though I'd hope they add zenith-esque stuff for other classes. Like a zenith bow. Though I wonder how any of them would work in a endgame balanced sense
A zenith gun that shoots every type of bullet in one spread shot would be a cool idea
@@n7xa gun that will use every type of bullet as long as you have all of those bullets in your inventory, and if not, it will use either musket ball or a special type
@@n7x that sounds awesome ngl, it'd be cool if there were more infinite ammo pouches, not just for bullets, but for arrows and rockets too
if theres anything zenith added again, they better have unique individual designs instead of that same zenith color palette 4 times.

Terraria having little summoner stuff actually stopped me from replaying Terraria again there is are just not enough playstyles. you go from A to Z in a straight line.
I'd still like one more active weapon type for summoners than just whips, so theres actual variety. That said, whips are a big improvement over nothing.

@@RealityMasterRoguethere are sentries, but they usually aren't much of a tradeoff between sentries and whips because you can just place down your sentries every once in a while and use whips for the rest of the time.
Terraria also needs a craftable summon based on the ores. The finch staff is just not always guaranteed, so a craftable summon makes sense as long as it doesn't outclass something like the slime staff.
Yeah, if not Ores, maybe jungle spores?

Flinx is good and all but it's not really obtainable without attacking, so yeah this would be great.

I'm genuinely hoping they change the biome specific planters. Best part of Terraria is having cohesion in builds so random plants being grown from every planter feels a little strange.

Summoner needs an overall buff. It sacrifices survivability for damage, but also has to get close, and doesn't even do that much more damage.

They should also add new summons and please Re-Logic update the Sentry Subclass (like add new sentries and accessories for it).
They are adding a new pre-hardmode sentry and summon from the dead cells crossover
The summon is called "Mushroom Boi"
And the sentry is the "barnacle" from dead cells

While whips are cool, I honestly think summoners mostly need new armour sets at this point, an alternative to Spider/Forbidden Armour for early hard mode would be the most appreciated

I think if they just said "yea it's in the works, we wanna save the surprises for when it's ready" would be understandable. RE-Logic has the best reputation in the gaming industry they don't need to drip feed us update news. They can do as they please tho it's just a confusing seeing all this fun news and I can't play it for a indefinite amount of time. They could at least say they are shooting for this time frame or that time frame.
I hope that all the whips do something cool and unique and dont end up like yoyos.

love some whip news summoner is the perfect balance between ranged and melee and magic you have to get closer to enemies then melee but you have more range then max damage melee and if you ever get in trouble you can hang back and spam some magic while you wait out potion sickness

1:04 - Its most likely they just made Temple bricks' properties similar to mud, allowing jungle grass to propagate.
Everything is good, however heres a question... How a corruption would affect that? My closest assumption is that its just not going to touch it at all, but might aswell be that these bricks has universal grass data, means you could possibly plant any kind ontop of it, making it possible for corruption to transform and propagate through it?

I would like to see an item or accesory that allowed potion effects to persist after death like a book or something it would be useful to get right back into fights with friends instead of reusing the buffs

With the new transformations, I wish we could get a lihzahrd transformation. Like, maybe it could allow us to climb walls or run a little faster, as the lihzahrds get a bit faster when they're running on all fours, and some real-life lizards can climb walls. Plus I just really wanna be a lizard, lol.

I do hope there will still be a variety of voices to choose from in character customization like we thought, and that they aren't all accessory-based silly joke voices. I think they sound fun and I'm all for the feature, but there should also be a way to distinguish whether it's you or someone else who is getting hit in the middle of a chaotic boss fight without the use of vanity items that not everyone is gonna be interested in using

I love the references to Pantera like vulgar display plant power in the entire boss named plantera
Whips are really cool but I wish they'd give Sentries some love too. One of my fav sub-classes is sentry summoner and it's pretty rough only having the old one's army ones as good ones and not having ANY at all pre-boss.
I was going to do another summoner playthrough, but now I just have to wait for the new update because wow, so many cool new whips!
