This is NOT an automatic as people keep saying,it doesn't have a torque converter,it is a twin clutch like in a GTR,Ferrari,Lambo,Audi RS's,AMG's and pretty much any modern performance car that is any good. Yet those cars never get the automatic comments like the Evo X does. For what it is worth,the Evo X SST is faster than the manual,how do I know? I own one and owned most of the Evo range. It also holds it's own againt my 2020 AMG A45s.

The response is very good and the reliability is solid. AMGs were actually criticized for rather sluggish gearbox response up until their latest generation, the A45s you mentioned is on the new gearbox which is much better. The A45s seriously got rid of most of the old A45's shortcomings, I haven't managed to drive one as it's still rare but it seems like a marvelous car. I hope you're happy with it. Audi's DCTs simply aren't as good as the competition right now, it sucks but it's true. The S-tronic paddle response when you're not doing exactly what it expects is underwhelming even compared to other DCTs and their reliability isn't great. I've seen people on Audi forums recommend servicing the gearbox more more frequently after the 200.000 km mark as it seems to keep the problems away. However now that Mercedes has upped their game I expect Audi will do so as well, after all they have that lovely Porsche PDK to borrow ideas from, the PDK is a serious piece of gearbox. The only ones insisting that the S-tronic is the best are a minority of Audi ignorants who hype their cars because they haven't driven anything else but Audis. Had a few of them the other day trying to explain to me how fun to drive Audis are compared to their competition, there's really no reasoning with such ignorance.

Lijkt me zo ie zo handig om met dit vermogen in WOT altijd in super sport te rijden, meer druk op de platen , en schakelt veel sneller.. overigens al die knipperende lampjes ?
@@Robin_3v It is a DCT. But DCT units can have lag, too. For example, look at the difference between a VW DSG and a Porsche PDK. PDK has less lag, noticeably.

The DCT in the Lancer Evo X is pretty old. If they made a proper modern DCT, it would definitely be better than the manual. Look at the A45s.

SST are quicker only 100-200, and +200km/h
But 0-180km manual are quicker.
For track every manual on evo x are few seconds quicker than SST.
