The number 1 problem is the lack of fantasy. No class fantasy, no race fantasy, no kingdom / state fantasy.... What is important is that sailor moon, furry mounts and my little pony is propagated everywhere. They have a homerun in Legion, and proceed to ignore everything good they did.
Dragonflight's problem is content bloat, there's literally too much to do unless you play 16 hours a day since release. I started playing retail again a couple months ago as a wrath andy, and i legit feel overwhelmed in a game ive been playing for 18 years
Not just, but it's lacking any kind of character it's safest, tamest, lamest expansion so far. Whole concept of "general dragon fantasy" and I know about the dragons of the lore, but have been sided in cataclysm just to brought back horseshoed in with a weak retcon.

4:38 I've TRIED a god-awful amount of those "other" MMOs and they either plain suck ass or are too convoluted for my liking, even if they are TECHNICALLY well-made if we go by the arbitrary measurement of popular opinion with people who can seamlessly immerse themselves when jumping system to system. WoW isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination but it's what I know and I'm just going to have to settle for the game that I can at least SOMEWHAT still wrap my head around, even as they push ever-increasing amounts and frequency of information overload onto me, the guy with over two decades of head trauma.
WoD was great expansion up and until the very last patch where Blizzard dropped the ball. And yes is kinda of a joke because wod had only 1 patch. thats it.. Patch 6.1 does NOT count because it had NO content. 6.2 introduced Tannan Jungle which sucked, it was boring, horrible gridnfest and ugly... And HFC was an ugly raid, that i stil lfinished in Mythic because fuck it, thats why, but i hated it. BUUUUUUUUUUUT: Leveling experience was fucking GREAT, i loved it! And i did it multiple times! One of my favorite expansions to level through by questing! And 1st 2 raids were good, Black Rock Foundry chef kiss!
Bro the game aged, get over it. Its now far far better for 30yr olds with jobs to play. Vanilla is for when people had no responsibilities and infinite free time. People who like WoW dont have that luxury anymore so the modern game has adapted for that. get over it go play Classic.
