Sweet! When I was a kid I did 'work experience' at a local garage. They had a customer's Cobra 427 rep in the shop for the whole 2 weeks I was there and when they went out for lunch I would stay behind and eat my sandwich in the Cobra. It was a better lunch companion than those guys, for sure.

The more you drive an ERA, the more you appreciate it. The one thing I tell anyone wanting to acquire a cobra replica is get one with an independent rear setup. We did runs through the mountains when I was back east. The cars with IRS were fine. The cars with solid axles were all bottoming out when the roads got a little technical & rough. Also, don’t over do it with Horsepower. The original 427 cars were at about 550hp. You don’t need that much. Certainly don’t need more. With the weight of these cars, they are already a GoKart with a V8. They will be a thrill at 350hp. Be safe, have fun! Beautiful ERA!
EXACTLY! There will always be some clown in a stripped Tesla or vacume assisted car that will beat everything 0-60, but who really cares? Hard to quantify the fun/scary factor of a Cobra
Anything Shelby touched turned to gold. The man had an eye for the beautiful and amazing when it came to cars. I realize it’s a replica but Shelby by design. It sounds mean and sound gives me goosebumps. Can’t get that feeling from electric.
You know Shelby didn't actually design the body of these cars, right? They were an existing British sports car with a crappy motor that he beefed up with a Ford V8 and better suspension…
I’d definitely rather own a reproduction Cobra that the real thing. The car looks and sounds awesome. The side pipes may want to burn you, but the car wants to kill you. Lightweight, short wheelbase and serious power means you better have some driving skills.

Great film work and most importantly, great sound capture! Good job man. His comment on the shifter being located in the reverse of normal position had nothing to do with leverage. The transmission was so far past the driver, it would have been all but impossible to reach it in the normal position. The whole driveshaft was something like 6" long!

One day when I was a kid standing on the street corner, a Cobra turned right at the light, right in front of me. I heard that 427 out of thise side pipes... that sound changed me... hot rods with big V8's... nuthin like it!
My parent's car was the first one I drove with power steering. Even my 65 Dodge Dart Charger had no power anything. Even drum brakes. I finally got power steering in my 69 Mustang Fastback, Still had drum breaks though. Also my first car with Air! I had side pipes in my 50 Chev Truck. They got hit with water and gravel from the front tires and got holes blasted in them. I still love the Cobras!!! I forgot the times but they went from 0 to 100 and back down to 0 in seconds!
Just finished one with my dad. *Only* about 420hp from a 351W and it is brutally quick. It time warps if you nail the throttle. It’s intense to build an entire car, but very rewarding. The engine is so far behind the rear axles it’s about 45/55 rear bias weight balanced
