Hello Jenna! I love classes on phrasal verbs! I'll copy it to my notebook, because even though I've already heard all of these phrasal verbs, I'm aware that I need to put them into practice.
Btw, your videos are becoming better and better. I mean, the quality of them. Besides being a great teacher, it's clear that you care a lot about the way you deliver your content! Thanks so much for doing this!

Oh, phrasal verbs! They're so important and at the same time they're kind of a nightmare for English learners, because even though there's nothing difficult and nothing to understand, the real challenge is to memorize hundreds of them, if not more!
Anyway, I already knew 5 of them and interestingly I know "talk someone in", but not well enough to figure out the meaning of "talk someone out"...😁
    Thanks a lot!

I know! They are a nightmare. The key is to learn a few at a time and then use them. After a while, they become second nature, especially if you listen to English a lot because you hear them frequently.

Very helpful video, thanks a million.
I wonder if you could help me know whether there is a difference between cope up and cope up with or not. Thank you in advance.

I don't know the phrasal verb "cope up." I only know cope and cope with. We use "cope with" when there's a noun after. Cope with something.

Ma'am for getting a job in english speaking countries how much marks do we need to get in IELTS out of 9 band
    Since I scored 7.5 overall

    • @LearnAcademicEnglish

Good question. I don't know because we don't use those types of tests to get jobs. You need to be able to speak so that people can understand you, and you need to be able to understand what people say. Of course, it depends on the type of job that you want to get. Some higher-level jobs require a higher level of communication skills.

This is my explanation about my doubt...
mam it means when we start sentences with the past so it must end with the past ..
    Means
I thought you were there .
    Not
I thought you are there .
    And
I was told she was here .
    Not
I was told she is here .
Which one is the correct professor?
I thought you must do this
I thought you should do this
I thought you might do this .

    • @LearnAcademicEnglish
      @LearnAcademicEnglish  Год назад +1

Yes, you are correct. For "I thought you must do this," we might say that, but you should say "I thought you had to do ..."
