An incredible rendition of Glenn Miller's classic Big Band music, and personally, I'm astounded...It shows that music spans the entire globe, and is indeed, a universal language...This is all the proof you need, and thank you so much for this excellent posting...

I must say, I love the renditions by Tokyo Kosei. Very little - if any - of the original music's feel and rhythm is dumbed down. Iwai-san (or Mashima-san, or whoever arranged this) has a can-do attitude in assigning all of the parts creating the groove - even the non-traditional jazz instruments like the flutes and oboes. This contrasts in what sometimes happens in renditions for symphony orchestras (like Boston Pops) when the string parts, or sometimes even the famous ad lib solo sections are dumbed down.

It's curious that while Glenn Miller was a trombonist, it appears that the saxophonists usually had the best parts in his charts.
