Been trying this out the last couple of months. Can only say it works. I hit the ball with more confidence and it goes straight. Brilliant. Have started putting my left foot out to point a bit left as well. At the moment I'm enjoying golf hitting better shots rather than be frustrated at my duff shots. Thanks Alex.
Hey Alex I struggle with pulling my hand in towards my body on my down swing and always hit it off the toe and struggle with slicing the golf ball all your drills have help me so far hopefully you see this.
So glad you addressed this question. I had fitting last year and the fitter told me I was too close to ball. He gave me a tip to use my right hand (pinky extended) against butt of club and belly button. It helped but I still struggle with being too close and feel uncomfortable.
Excellent golf tip, I setup one club head width away from the ball during my setup for all my clubs including Irons. Thanks for the video , keep up the good work
Alex I enjoyed your recent video for 50yd approach shots. The one o'clock open face and thumbs up to thumbs up really works. I tried it and it's like the ball has laser guided GPS. Great lesson.
Love this technique, started using it on the range unit I felt comfortable with it. Took it to the course for play. Club striking improved immediately. However, as I kept using the technique I noticed no matter where I put the ball in my stance, the club miraculously landed behind the ball! I guess I was subconsciously forcing the club to go to the ball. To fix this, I began closing my eyes when I bent over. Takes my brain out of the equation. Alignment instantly improved, ball striking came along naturally.
First of all Happy New Year!! This is brilliant !! 34 years ago I was taught this when I started to play golf. I stopped doing it and. actually forgot all about it!! Thank you for reminding me! ⛳️🏌🏻♀️🥰
Great tip that is often overlooked. I was standing too close to the ball, with my weight in my heels and was a main contributor to the dreaded early extension. Once I got set up correctly with my weight centered on my shoe laces, and the correct bend as you have shown here, I have been able to strike the ball much more consistently. Bad habits are hard to break though so it has to be a conscious effort each time.
Love the tips! Just recently been taking distance differences per club in mind when practicing and it’s been helping massively! Side note: The entirety of this video I kept thinking I was watching super Mario give golf tips!! The red shirt and hat with the blue vest made it look like Super Mario playing golf!
The most frightening shot for me on a golf course is hitting out of a fairway bunker. I've heard the idea is to treat this pretty much like a fairway shot...but I struggle to "pick the ball clean" and usually hit the ball thin or fat. I'd love a lesson on this shot!
Hi Alex, I would implore players to do the initial part of this and to make it part of their setup process on the course. From chips to drives. If you do this, then you dont need the last part of laying the club on the ground. Great and simple tips as usual, Alex.
Senior golfer here - Having trouble with topping my hybrid and 3W, and in order to hit a clean/better shot, I try to relax and/or extend my arms and whala... my questions is about getting the right distance from the ball - should I measure up with my knees bent, or straight if that makes sense.
Have been having lots of trouble from the tee lately mainly snap hooking. Went for a lesson a couple of days ago and was standing too far away from the ball at address, also having trouble with alignment. This will help also so thanks Alex
Alex, thank you for your content. I am a player that tends to hit balls more on the toe with my irons. Could you help me out with that problem. I assume that I am coming over the top some.
Good tip......Alex, we need a drill to improve consistency, nothing more aggravating than bombing a 5 iron, followed by a lousy one.....is it tempo? Set up? Losing my mind with this game
I found myself moving too far away from the ball. Played the front 9 in 7 over par. Was very frustrated but made the adjustment of moving a little closer to the ball and totally changed ball striking and direction for the back 9, which I played at 1 over par with 2 birdies. Ball striking and direction was much much better.
Alex, Thanks! great reference point. I have difficulty with my balance. How about a lesson on the best way to keep your balance on the downswing follow through.
Im an amatu and My shots are inconsistent...I can hit straight, fade, draw, but not with any intention other than trying to hit straight. Being newer do you think it's best to focus on learning one shot over the other, if so, which one? After watching your on club position, I'm seeing more ball marking upper middle to upper toe. I'm hitting into a net is this good or bad? Where is the ball likely to travel based on ball marking on the club face. Perhaps a video on that would be cool for those that are training indoors using a net. Thanks in advance
Hello Alex, can you talk about how to get a smooth swing? I see alot of players' swing very smooth but mine seems awkward.... Also in terms of how 'stiff' the arms (elbows) should be because I feel that when my elbows are locked / stiff, I cannot hit my wedges.. but not sure if the elbow stiffness should differ when hitting different clubs (driver - hybrid - irons / wedges - putter). thx man
Here's a golf swing concept I'd like explained. The inside out swing. I think I know what they mean by that term but I'd like to see it demonstrated and explained.
As beginner (I'm 8 months in) and find these videos great and very helpful, thanks for your time and effort. Perhaps you could rate my swing and give me some feedback it would be very helpful... Thanks again. 👍🏻
One addition. Get an alignment stick on the range to set the distance for each club. So you don't have to drop the club every time, just on the first go.
The idea is great, but it only works as depicted if you are around the same height as Alex. Taller player may find that the suggested club position will differ significantly and relying on the suggested shaft points doesn’t work
Completly agree! Im on the taller side, and just tried it one the range today. I felt SO SO far away from the ball that all my weight was on my feet and i was hard to balance😳
*This is the EASIEST way to get the CORRECT distance from the golf ball 💥*
Nice tip Alex. Does this apply to ball high, say 8", above feet/below feet? I feel there's a difference.

I've been having problems with my irons, even my higher irons. I tried this and my iron game has changed drastically. Thank you!
Excellent golf tip, I setup one club head width away from the ball during my setup for all my clubs including Irons.
Thanks for the video , keep up the good work
Great video as usual Thank you Alex for all that you do. Can’t wait for videos to come

Thanks Alex. We all can't afford 1 or 2 lessons a week so rely on these You Tube tutorials. Will definitely bring this to the range
Awesome, thank you!

@AlexElliottGolf have been using this consistently over the last 12 months. It's just one less thing I need to think about.

Thanks Alex next time at the range will give that a try, especially the Driver 👍👍⛳️
No problem 👍

I went to the range yesterday and was snap hooking a lot as well..I can't tell if I'm standing too close or too far away lol
Great advice! Is this the same for 3 wood and my hybrids? Thanks
Another great drill Alex thank you

Thank you for a very interesting tip.
I will give it a try.
Thank you Alan! I hope it helps
You come up with numerous NEW IDEAS.
I hope you have other interests besides golf !!!
Just married , so my comment does NOT apply.
Cheers.

EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED. What a legend. Any ideas on what to do with feeling like my eye comes off the ball in backswing? (I do wear glasses though)
This is a great question Andy! I would try drawing dots all over the ball and you have a set focus point to stair at
@@AlexElliottGolf cheers mate. I'll give it a go. I have been k own for an over swing so maybe just toning that back a bit
If you noticed, the end of the grip end is pointing at the belt buckle/belly button so that’s another indication of good set up
Watch my latest video!! It’s all about a grip routine - ruclips.net/video/7gEyZth-dwg/видео.htmlsi=6OdawN-sAoqt7So1
Let the club drop to touch your lead knee? 2-3" above the knee cap? That's what I try to do. Seems to work on every tee shot.
You mentioned in another video how you pull your shoulders back when addressing the ball, did you do that here as well?
Yes please
Nice tip! Does this apply to ball high, say 8", above feet/ below feet? I feel there's a diff.

Hi Daryl! I realised that on the edit from this angle it’s a little further back. I’ll make that adjustment
Fantastic tip Alex 👍

Feet are well behind the KBS sticker 🤷♂
Ha ha ha snow there and people here complaining how cold it is and it's 25c
Hahaha it’s cold for us 🤣🤣🤣
Moe Norman stood far from the ball. He was pretty decent.😸
C’mon 😂
I need glasses , was that a bunch of golf balls in front of you ? Must be thousands.🧐🤪😝🤣🍻🏌️☃️
Hahaha just a very busy range hahaha 🤣
@@AlexElliottGolf thanks for your time, if you lived by me (Florida, USA) I would definitely take a lesson and if I can afford it, more .
