- If you’re in the trade you will know the brand knipex!, high quality hand tools from Germany and trade folks love there products especially electricians, they do a few products for plumbers and iv already got a waste pipe cutter so iv got hold of the latest knipex tube cutter, the tubix s ( for copper, thin wall steel and stainless steel) it’s for pipes up to 30mm and has an adjustable ratchet bit to accommodate for different size pipes, sounds good and with it being knipex it’s going to be a quality product!, but is it any good? Well you will have to watch the video my friends #tools #toolreview #toolreviews #plumbing #plumber #pipefitting #buildings #knipextools #knipex #handtools #plumbingtools
Key with this tool design is for the convenience of only carrying one tool to cover all the different pipe diameters.
Great video, I like knipex tools, I recently bought the new ratcheting cable knife, it was presented in the new update video, along with this tube cutter. The knife is expensive too, it works, I can fold the blade, it's safe to use, I want to test it in cold weather, when the insulation is harder. But sometimes knipex just complicated simple designs. I also use their plastic tube cutter, the bix, it's a good tool. Thanks for your onest review.
great video i though the spring would let you cut without re tightening the knob mid cut. the ratchet adjust is nice but not for 4x the price of similar tools.
Great video👏🏻 thank you for spending and sharing. I like knipex a lot but having watched this I will be keeping clear of this tool when it hits the merchants. Well done sir
Thanks a lot sir appreciate it 🤟🤟
I've got a rigid similar to that. It's at least 20 years old. The only thing it does not do is ratchet. It's handy sometimes when you need to get into an installed pipe. Usually it's too big for that though.
In France, we generally use 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 22 and 28mm pipe. Of course, many English come over with their 15mm pipes, which causes problems with compatibility.
Oh what a nuisance sir 🤪thanks for reaching my friend I did not know that about French pipe!! I’m presuming there is a 15mm to 16 adhaptor or coupling to sort it, sorry from across the channel 😔
You’re comparing different tools. Would’ve been nice to see a real comparison between two thumb cutters. A close cutter is always going to win in speed because it’s made for a specific size .
Well said sir 🤟🤟
£65? I am a Knipex fanboy but that is an awful lot of money for pipe cutter. Am I missing something
i understand and respect the review but its kinda flawed since you are comparing it to yes the same type of tool but not with the same features, idk what style that would be called but you can use that for many sizes rather than having 4-5 different cutters like u compare against the knipex which take up alot of space, that ridgid seemed really sweet but in terms of my work i am always on the go and have a lot of tools already and dont have a designated work truck so multiple bags are inefficient so i bought this just for that reason its small and can be used on many sizes, havent used it yet but ill have to see. also with your usage you pointed out how it loosely spins after adjusting it to the size and snapping it on when its actually supposed to do that, i think the main idea behind that feature was to make it so u can snap it on if u already know the size in a small space rather than having to hold it and tighten it on that way you only have to tighten and spin
but in conclusion i would agree those ridgids are a lot faster just bulkier and limited to 1-2 sizes
Thank you for reaching out with an awesome comment my friend thanks for reaching out 🤟🤟
"They do do some plumbing... erm..."
I see what you did did there.
I’m here all week 🤪
SO FUNNY! The only advantage is not for the plumber but for someone scrimping by and not knowing what he's going to cut. Pipe, tubing, and what size. And so it's one tool for the lot and range. For that it's "quite nice!"
Very good point my friend and well said!! Thanks for that 🤟🤟
Why did they decided to over-engineer a mini adjustable pipe cutter design thats only ever been less than adequate on microbore & absolute garbage on anything bigger? Pipe slice all day long for me, the Bahco set will cost you a little more than this Knipex but worth every penny 👍
Well said sir!!, watch this space tho because I’m going to redesign this cutter to act more like a pipe slice!! ( hopefully!) cheers pal 🤟🤟
I really don't know what they were thinking. I have a similar one, but smaller and less complicated, and the only thing it's used for is extremely tight spaces where I can't use any other cutter. I think it was $5.
ruclips.net/video/0r19yCoch08/видео.html Aluminum alloy casting, not CNC processing, I Hold back it. The paint is not all parts, and even anodizing is not use. This is made in Germany, with the price, it is really "excellent workmanship and German precision".
I love knipex products. But this is shit. Buy a couple of proper slices
Hard to disagree with U on this one, mate, the same is with knip.x CutiX (90 10 165) over engineered as well; but I still love them, for the pliers wrenches (86.... series), and all cobras and alligators of course!
