Brilliant- love M. Hasson’s playing! I heard him play this in Auckland NZ in 1974 and the audience went completely berserk for what seemed like five minutes after the first movement. Mr Hasson couldn’t stop smiling and gave a rueful shrug when they had to continue. NZ audiences are known as the best in the world
Happy memories of lessons with maestro Hasson in the early 80s. He was brutal but effective and it was so good to watch him demonstrate. I actually learned the Tchaik with him if I remember rightly. Wonderful virtuoso.
Thanks ! What would be wonderful to hear is the Prokofiev 2nd concerto M.Hassan recorded in the 1970s for the Classics for Pleasure label. I used to have the LP but heard that it was never transferred to CD. Coupled with the Paganini #1. DOes anybody have it ?
Yes, I know the record. I think one can buy it through Amazon (what is it that one cannot find on Amazon these days, LOL!) You can check it out here: www.amazon.com/Paganini-Violin-Concerto-No-1-Prokofiev/dp/B00NL7VBR0
