I crashed at 105 mph on my motorcycle. My road rash is very very bad. Be safe out there guys.
Crashed 60 mph on a 250 dirtbike on the street got cut off my elbow was exposed 2 skin grafts later were back to normal baby

@eddy7346 I had some armor on and slid out most of the momentum. Also an expensive helmet, that no longer can be used.
iam only at 55 but when i hit brakes it wobbles, i get road rash at my knee and it is swelling and very red and looked raw is it okay to treat only at home, what you don in your case. ty
@@c4yourself319my lifelong best friend dumped his bike tonight, at 110 in a flee, no gear. Thankfully, 1 broken bone, and 2 places needing stitches are the main injuries- but, I’m here now watching this video.

Hydrocolloid dressings are indeed amazing, though my rash was large enough to ooze after 24 hours under a 4x4in patch.

As a person who crashed at very high speed on rough, gravel-covered asphalt while wearing only surf shorts and a pair of flip flops, I can tell you all about full-body road rash. The bike had no speedometer, but I was at near-wide open throttle in 5th gear on a 400cc 2-stroke bike. The rash was to the bone in several places, and even required over 40 giant stitches to stretch what remained of my flesh back over my exposed arm and leg bones. Believe it or not, I was only in the hospital for 2 days, before being dumped on my parents for my long term care. It happened the last day of my sophomore year of high school, and I remained wrapped up like a mummy for most of the summer, having to change out the bandages and disinfect the wounds twice a day to prevent infections. This was unbelievably painful... and messy. They didn't make bandages big enough, and my mom would have to wrap me in disposable diapers and white bandage tape. To get it all off and start over, I would have to soak in a tub of warm water until the scabs softened enough to release the bandages. This would take up to an hour. Sometimes I would wake up in the morning and the ooze would have soaked completely through the diapers, and I would also be stuck to the sheets and blankets. This would require me to take the bed linens into the tub as well. This happened in the late 1970s, so maybe treatment has changed somewhat, but I am willing to bet it is still sucks. I never stopped riding, (I own 5 bikes today), but I do carry some pretty severe scars as a reminder to never do that again.
Damn man that sounds real tough hope you're doing okay now. I myself just got a few road rashes on my back and arms yesterday but no where near as severe as your case
@@fahadfaisal6230 Thanks for the kind words. Yep, I'm doing fine. Going riding with some friends tomorrow as a matter of fact. Got back on a bike as soon as I could after that and never stopped riding. Among other things, I have crossed the entire country on bikes several times - from east to west twice, and from south to north once - but I've never had another crash nearly as serious as that one. That's partly because I now have a closet full of protective gear and I wear one or the other every time I ride, depending on the temp and weather conditions.

I heard that disinfecting the wound too often kills the healthy cells as well which reduces the healing process. Also most people say a controller moist environment heals faster with a more even surface than drying the wound out, resulting in faster healing with less scarring.
Could you please comment on this ?
I'm in the process of healing my road rash and when I went to the doctor she told me to keep it moist with neosporin or petroleum jelly to help protect it

I've had my share of falls. I got road rash on right hand, left elbow/arm, both knees. I think cause nerve damage. I have carpal tunnel, cubital so yeah. my chance of paralyzation is high.

Hydrocolloid dressings are THE best I've used them several times, leaving them up to 4 days. No pain whatsoever when sleeping/showering or when changing the dressing itself. Just make sure there is no infection or dirt before you apply them.

I got some real bad road rash on my knee riding my ebike going 20mph, probably 3 or 4 millimeters deep at least. Been 2 weeks and my elbow has fully healed already but barely any changes to my knee. Bought some knee/shin pads to have this never happen again.

i came here because i was cycling with my dad and i was tryna drink watee while cycling cause thats what cyclist do. but im not that good yet so i lost control and got massive abrasions :(
@@hotpotato5742 Trying to cycle no handed? Just try to cycle with your back straight and with confidence. Try doing this when on medium speed, Or high. Hope you get better.

I got mine left arm injury rash from side walk n went home took shower feels pain than i add alcohol n skin cream to heal it n wipe the long white bandages until it heals 5 days my bike broke n my dad has to fix it

Deep growl got me today. One case of forearm road rash and dislocated pinky. Had almost 10 miles to go, pop everything back into place and ride it out.

I was on a bike on my way home from my local supermarket and I forgot my bike didn't have brakes and I know this isn't road rash but my knee had a massive hole in it and I couldn't move it it wasn't broken but it hurt like hell

I was hall ass on a four wheeler on a gravel road fliped it wail tail whipping and slid on my arm. Probably going about 20 mph. Never had one this bad. I had a piece of rock in my arm

@@cupboard_raider I just made sure that my wound was clean... very clean. Initially, my skin was healing with the dirt inside but after a few days, the dirt wasn't there anymore after the new skin grew out.

My motorcycle decided it wanted to do a wheelie out of nowhere. I can do wheelies on it. I got caught off guard and busted my ass. Worse pain I’ve felt in a long time
This happened to me yesterday smh , i was riding my R1 and didnt notice i was in first gear and hit the throttle a lil too hard and the bike came up and i couldnt find the rear brake , my knees got scraped tf out and two of my fingers got burn with the friction when i was sliding even though i was wearing good gloves
