- In 2021, I started documenting the life of Ralph Robertson, a retired General Store owner. I spent two years making around 40 videos with him. Sadly, Ralph passed away in December of 2023. In this particular video, I head back to the Hollow to visit Ralph’s daughters. Om June 22nd, 2024, Ralph would have turned 98 years old today. Let's celebrate the birthday of an Appalachian legend.

Thanks for sharing all these memories of Ralph. I like everyone else loved all the videos you made with him. My thoughts and prayers are with his beautiful girls as they deal with the loss of their amazing dad. I know it's sad but just be thankful you ladies had him as long as you did. I lost my dad when I was 20 and there's not a day since that I don't think of him and miss him. I'm now 76 and still a daddy's girl.

Super💯video as always
Hi John..My mother had those metal ice trays..She used to make us kids ice milk with them..😄
I didn't get to see all of Ralph's videos but that's okay. The ones that I did see were awesome 💯😎 and amazing. I can tell that Ralph was a hard working man and a great father as well. His daughters are so wonderful blessed to have had such great parents. Everybody is gonna miss Ralph and his wife very much but not as much as his daughters. But Ralph and his wife are in a better place where there is no more hurting and no more sickness. Thank you so very much John for filming Ralph and his awesome 😎❤️ family. May God bless you all
I love it
I'll tell you what… He sure reminds me of my dad. I sure do miss my dad, he was an awesome guy!
Yep , we had those metal ICE TRAYS . You would pull the handle to brake the ice cubes loose and it would send sone ice cubes flying. And if you overfilled the thing it wouldn’t work and you would have to hold it under the running sink water till it melted enough to work . They were ok but not as good as the plastic ones that followed .
Hi from Dexter🏠Missouri
Omg when my mom passed away I had to go through her house also. She was born in 1927 passed in 2016 , I bet I found at least 100 pairs of scissors I’m not lying, curious as to why all the scissors, I found them everywhere in her house?
Scissors always seem "to walk away" !!
Still Got 2 of the Ice Cube trays
I have one of the ice trays
Sure do remember those ice trays
I like the video of Mr Ralph and I think her name was Martha
Lisa looks familiar. Did she ever live in Florida for a short time?
Is Greasy Hollow anywhere near Cumberland City?
Are one of Ralph girls girls missing in this picture"
Nope
Now the sibling bickering will start on even division of assets, thats what happened to us.
For some reason. I thought Ralph had 7 girls.

whats that store
An old time general store. From hardware, food ingredients like flour, sugar, candy etc. Back in the day people preserved their own meats & veggies
Ralph had 6 daughters?
Yes
