First chess streamer I've ever watched. The only chess streamer that improves my own game. Watching Hikaru, Magnus, etc. Makes me worse (specifically when they play blitz, or don't explain anything. I'll face loss after loss after watching them, lol.) IM Rosen explains his entire thought process. Really appreciate him.
i guess im asking the wrong place but does someone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost the password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me.
I love these games. Just amazing how it seemed like White made a crushing attack appear like pulling a rabbit out of a hat. All from a vague notion of wanting focus to be on the king side and Black's choice to move king side with the queen. Amazing.
After I watched this video I followed the same attacking pattern and I won without any trouble ..you are giving a good content Eric please continue doing this
Appreciated this, I've been playing the Jobava London for a few months now after it was recommended by GingerGM and I really enjoy some of the positions I get :)
I really liked the focus nature of this game, how you took your time and played carefully without the distractions. Worth doing as a study of an opening system, and more should come!
Me: "Oh, a new opening variation that might help me trick my opponent and win." Also me: "I played this couple times before not knowing what I was doing and lost big time."
@@12jswilson legal's mate isn't something you try to play to though.. it's a situational trap. The fact that you tried to play for a position for it already means you're doing it wrong
Extremely nice gem of a game. 26.g5 e5 27. Rf6 (or your Rh6) Qxg5 is the kind of sequence i can see but stop calculating too soon. The quiet retreat of the rook back to the first/second rank to create unstoppable threats along the g-file is quite simple and elegant and just over the horizon of my calculation in such a quick scenario. Highly instructive. Thank you and kudos!
Hello Eric. Thanks for the instructive game and congrats for the win. Did you record the post game analysis? If yes I would be interested in seeing that too.
when you play h4 if he doesn’t play h5 and doesn’t make the castle, you still play h5 where he’s going to take the knight, in which case are you willing to sacrifice the rook by taking the knight in h5? answer me please, what would be a good continuation for white after the sacrifice of quality? I'm Brazilian and I love your videos. I train my chess and my English at the same time. kkk
This is the whole point of the Jobava System: It has Nc3 played as early as move 2 or 3. In the typical London System, it is the pawn that occupies the c3 square. One idea of Nc3 is combining it with the powerful bishop on f4. if c5 is played carelessly by black, White can get the initiative with Nb5 threatening Nc7. It forces black to play Na6 and Black's pieces gets too uncoordinated. The knight on b5 can't even be easily dislodged in this structure type. Another idea of Nc3 is it threatens to play e4 early on should Black wants to transpose to Pirc or KID lines. Subtleties.
Eric! I don't know if you read comments, but I need your help very much, I am playing the london and people just play e6 b6 d6 Nf6 Ne4 type of moves and following it up with f5, any help?
How many times have you destroyed a player while their queen sat out of the game on a5?? You kept expecting him to move his queen to Siberia. And when he didn’t you put your knight there???
Comments Few players have played the London system against me, an opening I'm not familiar with and not to fall into traps I tend to play something out of the ordinary hoping to confuse my opponent. After d4 d5 Bf4, I play e5 to attack the center. Just found out, this is the Mason variation and only found one game where this was ever played. Falke, Johannes vs Limberg, Philipp Any advice on this defense?
The video format of a large chess board and Eric's small talking head with no background clutter is great. Circa 2024, I thought it was his new format compared to last week's ugly format of Eric against a white wall & the chess board being the same size as Eric's video. But actually this is from 2020! His chess talk is fantastic but his video format has regressed into more ugly.
its part of the cap problem / ap system youtube has anyway (it can appear to more than one person to be first) dont know why people dont understand that writing the "first" comment is not necessarily the real first comment

I'm far from being a critic of a GM like you are, but if your videos were more expeditious and left that tinge of boredom, in my opinion they would be extremely sensational

You should watch GingerGM too, you'll learn a lot of things and he's really entertaining !
Valenpin yeah but hes lowest rated gm booooo
Honestly the main reason I watch Rosen more than the others is because of the 10+ minute games. With bullet chess it’s too fast to explain tactics :)
The agmadator channel has nice explanations. And it includes some player series--one for Fischer, one for Tal, etc.
gotham chess is great too
Black has three options :
Takes
F6
Or do something else 😆

I know you enjoy interacting with the Twitch chat, but this non-stream game was way more focused and entertaining. Rock on

I prefer this longer format where you explain your tought process. It's far more helpful than 3 minute games. You're a gifted instructor.
Thanks for so much content.
Your chess videos are my favourite distraction, really enjoy how chill and cool you are.
Take care and happy new year!

Why do you even watch commentary then? Just watch plain games or play your own.

So Calm with 2 mins to go~ great game ty sir~!
29:42 Isn’t Qe5 just completely winning after Nf6? Am I missing something or is Eric missing a free piece in that calculation?
Looks that way, with the subsequent threat of g5.
Yeah I think he missed it
More rapport-jobava systems please this was great!
Holy shit Eric is playing Jacob furfine. He goes to my school and I knew he was good at chess but I did not know he was this good. Small world lmao
hahaha nice
What happens in the Jobava when the black bishop plays an early b4? 1 - d4 d5, 2 - Nc3 e6, 3 - Bf4 Bb4.

I was look at the lichess database and up until Qf3 you were 3/4 of all of the games in existence that played that line lol
I was wondering why this video is so much different. Then I read the description.

Who could dislike this!!!

Quick question, if you took with the bishop and he pushed f6 couldn't you just take his knight in b8 and be up an exchange?
Appreciate you boss
Didn't you miss a hanging pawn on b5 you could have taken with your knight around 27 mins?
Is it just me or seeing the knight on c3 blocking the c2 pawn is so irritating?!
Wow that's me, I am almost always ready to play c4
That's the London .. irritating and boring

Chess always seems easy to Eric Rosen 😂
Why not attack with c file knight?
