How do you measure profile...example I have a drawing with a surface profile datum ACB with a basic dimension..the basic dimension being a 128.00 angle..do I need to calculate do to the basic dimension??

Hey Dean, great video as always.
    Quick question,
If you’re inspecting the profile the same way as a flatness callout (Example: .004” profile drawing callout) is the profile tolerance treated like .002 max or do you get the whole .004 tolerance? Or does that only apply when a profile is calling out to a datum feature?

Hi, great question! If it’s profile with no datum reference, the tolerance zone is free to move around within the limits of size. If there is a datum reference with a basic dimension, you would have .002” on either side of the .004” profile you mentioned.
