Most of my projects are a "Custom Cluster" LOL! (5:16) Better you than me on that wiring harness. I'd be long distance air-planting tools and everything else I could lay hands on within 15 minutes of tackling that job.
I had an old International Harvester that had its entire life over loaded. Like it had six worn out engines put in it from running Atlanta to South TX. As in probably well over a million miles. It had a set of spacers made with the inner diameter that just fit over the hub , and drilled out to just fit over the studs. It never gave any issues. The dually fenders were made from a set of square hood Dodge fenders. It was as ugly as a mud fence , but extremely Tuff n reliable.
@@highostablegarage i'm sure ole peg would be proud, maybe in the dually conversion vidya, you should try to get em to co-star in that shenanigans. im excited to see the dually.
If I were you I would do the dually conversion and maintenance items next. Then install the interior and make the body work your final step. That way you don't accidentally damage your body work doing any of the other work.
Wow. Man, make an adapter and sell it to combine two cabs. Doesn't matter if this looks weird. It works. Would be kind of factory safe in a wreck. And allow universal doors between front and back. 👏🏼
I’m gonna be swapping in a replacement transmission into my 93 Ford F-150. I got it from a junkyard from a truck my cousin would run around the yard pulling parts off vehicles and running it into the storage for them to be sold. It’s a little cold but I will be able to fire up the wood furnace in the barn and keep warm.
You always start at the body line behind the back of the door and then move forward to the door to fender gap. Essentially from the back of the cab forward when aligning body gaps.
Great video Colt! You can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I think you should do whatever comes first. If you can get the inside finished up before the spacers come in do that. Cheers
That truck is looking really good Colt, great job. I can't wait to see it when you are done with it. You have a lot of talent and you have great problem solving skills. Seriously Colt much respect to you man. I am very happy I found your channel, you are building things I've always thought about building but never had the place or time to do it. If I ever get the time and place to do it I now know tips and tricks to do it. I honestly can't wait to see what you do next on this channel. MUCH RESPECT ✌🏻
When I converted my 2wd F250 to 4x4, I used the rear lift blocks that came with the F350 donor truck. As far as I can tell, F250 4wds from 1980-1997 came with 2" lift blocks at the rear axle, while F350-up came with 4" blocks. This is likely due to the TTB allowing for more suspension travel for the same ride height, when compared to a solid axle. BTW, I'm not tall, so I swapped down to 2" blocks on the rear, and tweaked the front springs to maintain some preload stance. Basically, the truck is about as low as I could possibly get it. The tailgate seems to be about 3" lower now, which makes it a lot easier to load and unload from the bed.
Vinyl paint works really well on those old plastic dashes. Kinda find a color close or ssome places sell a color match but with colors like red the more you apply the darker it gets so you want light tac coats with decent coverage then try a wet coat and if its too bright after tac try another etc.
It might be way too far into the build but I was looking at those front back doors 😂 what if the were reversed so you'd have full size Suicide doors in the back
Man, that’s a lot of big items crossed off the list in one video! I think it would be better to have it a running driving truck before you do the dually just to see if there is any problems before you modify the main drivetrain/driveline because if there is problems, dually wheels on a single wheel axle will probably make them worse. But that’s just my opinion. Cheers! Looking forward to seeing this thing in the road! I think a big burnout is needed to celebrate when you get done the build!
I actually had a few people say that, if I would have thought of it soon we I might have put it in the cards haha, maybe a different project down the road
I can't recall his name, but it's thecraig909 his cousin did a dually conversion on his truck, but I can't recall how he did it, but his video is out there on RUclips
@@highostablegarage , Thanks. I practice what I preach. Ford and Mopar have tumbler covers on their locks. Pull the covers, tap the locks on something so that the innards fly out and you’re good to go.

Yes sir, that sparks a bit more confidence in the spacers at least haha
Lol Colt, as soon as you installed the driveshaft, i imagined Peggin Leggin sayin "Driveshaft, engaged" overall a great friggin build man,
Haha 😂 Good old Prg, so far this project is Zippy approved so I must be doing something right haha 😂

That’s a pretty good plan, get everything where it’s suppose to go before the bodywork stage
Im voting for the dooley conversion
It’s coming no worries there

Getting closer all the time!
Sure am!

Yes sir that’s the way to do it, wood heat trumps all when there is little insulation 👌
It's come along way and looks awesome
Sure has! Can’t wait for final product
Love the rear door wing windows 😎👍
Air flow engaged haha 😂

Man, you are making great progress! Nice work!
Been going pretty steady with it! So far so good!

Not bad, makes it much easier to load without a step ladder haha
This ole boy seems knowledgeable. I'm surprised only a few thousand viewers. I expected better. It will be if he keeps up

I actually went over that in the second video of you go back far enough, main reason was so rugrats don’t have to deal with suicide doors
@@highostablegarage ok got ya understandable
Nice slave lake shirt!
Gotta represent that old sweetheart haha 😂
I like it single rear wheel.
Fingers crossed the dually will look just as good
Voting for interior. Everyone leaves that out if the finish everything else.
It won’t get the most glamorous interior out there but I have a few ideas to snazz it up 👌
What happens when you teach a tinkerer how to weld😂. Anything is possible once you can weld.
It’s a world of possibilities haha 😂
Higho stable garage you gained a new sub
I appreciate it 👌

Hummmm, might have to wait on track bars for a burnout but I’ll see what I can do haha 😂
Dually conversion, then the maintenance.
Most likely the case 👌
Started pretty dang quick in my opinion
Quicker than I thought, I guess it never lost its prime in the hard lines which was wild haha
It needs a three point hitch 😂😂
Tractor man with a tractor plan haha 😂
What if you put another rear axle so you have a 6×6 truck?
Maybe another project but I have thought about it haha 😂
I know it would be a ridiculous amount of money and fabrication, but what if you added a third axle and make the rear a tandem lol.
I actually had a few people say that, if I would have thought of it soon we I might have put it in the cards haha, maybe a different project down the road
Ford power house
Just curious when did your Vhevy last run and move under its own power
Oh jeez, when I drove it in I’m guessing that that was 5 years ago
When do you think it will get its turn
@@isaachobbs4206 not sure yet, lots of things changing behind the scenes so it might end up getting liquidated

Dump out the tumblers and springs out of the ignition and door locks. Then only 1 key will be needed. ANY key. Just don’t tell others.
Haha 😂 that’s a neat way to look at it haha 😂

Me neither 👌Should be pretty sweet when it’s humming down the road
First here I believe
I can confirm you are the first 👌
Keep up the great work!!
Hit up the interior!!!
I'd like to see the electrical and mechanical work done first
Noted 👌
