- One of the worst nightmares with owning a car is getting a flat tire. We're going to learn about what to do when you have a flat tire, how to change it yourself, or when to ask for help. The first thing you want to think about when you have a flat tire is how long the car has been parked. If it's been longer than 24 hours, you may not need to change your tire with the spare. It may just need some air and then you drive it to your PCT to figure out, "Why is it flat?"
I don't have a car anymore, but you make this look so simple I almost wish I did so I could show off and change a flat. I took a little workshop a few years ago in changing a bicycle tire flat and that is at least 10 times more difficult, I don't think I'd be able to do it on a back tire, getting the inner tube aligned is crazy. A car tire may take a lot more muscle but it's straightforward. Figuring out the jack is probably trickier than the tire. The tire is just a large version of taking a lightswitch plate on and off. Your videos are very inspirational. I hated going to the mechanics when my car had problems, but I'd definitely feel more confident going to your shop. It's so horrible how many people leave horrible demeaning comments on your positive inspiring videos.

Constructive criticism? Please be sure to include all safety points, as many women will not automatically know! Best to do a run thru when you first get this car, so you're familiar when you need to be AND so you know your car has the right tools! It's not unusual to discover the jack isn't the right one and won't lift the car high enough to get the tire off or back on! Or the jack handle's missing...or the lug wrench is stripped, etc, etc Before jacking up, remove spare from the car and find something to chock wheels in both directions so the car doesn't roll off the jack... major important!!!

Never thought tire changing could be sexy!
What if your pinch weld are rotten. And they need to lift a car? What about when lugnuts are swollen? What about when lugnuts are seized up? What about when the hub is seized to the wheels or when the lugnuts are stripped from previous owners? There alot of information missing here. This toke almost 15 min what about a rush setting when all this things are a issue and the customer is yelling that he needs his or her daughter at home because there kids are crying? Or when someone is in a rush and needs this things done in a 1hr. All 4 tires need to be changed with all valve stems or tpms kits changed, and balanced wheels after all that the wheels need to be road force? The list needs goes on.
Why a star pattern when tightening the lug nuts?
Leverage and better control of lug nut. Mechanics nowadays tighten lug nuts so hard with air wrenches that its harder to remove lug nuts with star wrench. They will strip your wheel stud if they dont properly roll the nut by hand on the stud before using air wrench or even if they use hand at all. They can strip your wheel studs.
I would wear shoes (no pun intended lol) with some grip and that are more comfortable.
