Excellent video! I am so fearful of losing the cross after that happened once. I can relax a bit more. Not only are you an excellent teacher, you are definitely weaving therapy.

Hahaha Leash stick helps you with the order. I think you give us something else to think about. Like a good story leaves you coming back for more. Like what is a leash stick? Well you have my attention and I am addicted. LOL ❤️😊❤️

I tend to mispronounce it - lease sticks. They are 2 thin sticks loosely tied together at each end. When inserted into the weaving cross, they give you directions as to the order of the warp yarns. You'll probably see them in the video about "sleying the reed"! Hope that helps!

The cross was so confusing to me when I first started out - I absolutely agonized over maintaining it because I had no idea what would happen if I lost it. I was trying to keep it even after I threaded and sleyed xD Took a little Googling, but I eventually figured out it's just there to help you dress the loom properly. I wish I'd seen this video earlier hahaha

Hi again, Chris. Just a quick question. When at the warping board, I usually (well, truthfully, always!) tie the warp not only in the 4 places you point out, but also at the very end of the loop around the end peg, but also at the cross itself. Am I being a bit OCD about this? I put the warp bundle directly on the lease sticks, so maybe I don't need to be too paranoid about losing the cross? As always, any help or comment is much appreciated--especially if it saves time!

Hi Ryk! Good question! As you go through the process, maybe just evaluate your steps. If each one makes sense in your head, serves a purpose, and helps you sleep at night, keep them! If you find yourself thinking that some are extras, try removing one to see how you feel.
No one grades you on your process to get to the end. So you do you!! Everyone will be different! You've got this!
