This is great, I think we should all look back at our old practices and look at how we've grown. I know I had a LOT more energy when I started practicing, and I was WAY more into collecting ingredients.
Hey Frankie (and everybody else who see their reflection here)! I enjoyed the video a lot and loved seeing the changes, but I also felt sad and felt you were quite hard on your younger self. Growth doesn't come from tearing oneself down, but it can come from seeing how far you've come and being so proud of and happy about that. From one self-demolishing critic to (maybe several) another - kindness to oneself goes so much more of a longer way. Love to all

I'm glad to see how your practice evolved. I think it's good to show that your beliefs can grow and change and that's ok. Especially for people like me that come from traditional religions where the exected beliefs are fixed with no room to explore. I think that's part of what draws a lot of us to witchcraft/paganism/folk practices.
There are so many unanswered questions from the OG video .... Why is the candle purple? Where are the sources? Young Frankie, please
oh my GOD yes, I've been trying to find information on spells that aren't in Jar or Candle forms for the longest time. I would Love a video on different spell forms.
I have to say, I watched the original video as a brand new witch when it first came out (I'd maybe been studying a few weeks) and the video definitely made me feel overwhelmed and as though I'd never be "good enough" to be able to maintain good wards. It gives me an odd sense of satisfaction to watch you getting fed up with your advice from that time. It's amazing how much we can change. Good for you for re-evaluating old advice and practices. I'm really excited for this series!
I agree with this. While I *adore* Frankie and their existence, I felt intimidated.
It took me a while to understand that while doing work is complicated, sometimes, I personally feel many beginner witches tend to over-complicate the basics.
It’s like, yes, please do some research but not every spell will involve invoking the devil and doing blood magic (isn’t this spelled differently?)
anyway, I think i avoided their YT for this reason; ironically enough, I am coming back to it while their re-evaluating.
I think it’s a cool coincidence.
honestly, I still love your early videos and their improvised / slightly chaotic style haha. They really got me excited to dive deeper into certain topics and I loved how they weren't really purely educational but also tiny glimpses into your personal practice. I never got "teacher vibes" from them which was so refreshing to see on youtube!! (Just here to leave some appreciation for younger Frankie!! Don't be so hard on yourself hehe)
Yay, thank you! That makes me so so happy to hear! I think in my head, creating content on youtube was for education or in my head I put myself into that "teacher" position, so it's definitely frustrating to see that that vision or idea didn't necessarily come through in my videos! I'm happier with my content now - it feels more along those lines that I originally envisioned. Thank you for your comment.

I don't remember how I discovered you, but I remember how excited I felt, my fascination with your practice and the times i screenrecorded all your witchy tips to store them in a folder to revisit them because tiktok's banned in my country and i used a vpn for your page, i remember you streaming on my bday and wishing me, i remember you streaming layers of fear and me staying up late to see you live. And I remember where I was in all those moments of my life. And I didn't expect to get emo at almost 2:30 am wtf 😭
Honestly, thank you so much. I don't know if my practice would even exist without you. Because you were the one who really gave me the push into this world and that has helped me get to where I am rn.

In the olde video, I had a sneaking suspicion it was overwatering, cuz being a houseplant fanatic, I know that cactus look hella sad when overwatered and die very fast when they rot. Great video! Love how you patched up info spots I didn't see before.
I just want to show my appreciation for the inclusion of those with aphantasia. I have this issue, unfortunately, and I see SO many sources out there casually tossing around the idea of visualization and 'picturing things' as you do spellwork, and it makes me feel like I'm incapable or an outcast for not doing something so universally spoken about. Seeing someone such as yourself actively including individuals with aphantasia by giving different suggestions of various types of physical ties and processes is really refreshing! Aphantasia isn't spoken about enough in this craft and it was very hard to work around the lack of visualization in my craft. Thank you for being so considerate towards other practitioners!

We all go through phases of life. Im super grateful for you now and then. I wish you would see your younger self through the kindness, compassion, and loving lens we all have for you now and then. There is a feeling of sadness watching you critique her. Because we are protective of her. Now AND then. ❤️
Watching your face during this video was downright fun! Don't kick yourself; all healthy humans grow, develop, and evolve over time. It's only in the last 10-15 years that we've been able to literally come face-to-face with our previous, less evolved selves... and there's a lot that can be learned from that interaction. Even if you take the older videos down, I'd suggest stashing them away somewhere so you can watch them again in another 5-10 years and see what the changes can teach you. :-)

I think back and was like 😬😬 But I like that you did this cause it shows everybody that we all have potential to grow as people and as practitioners. Oh yes a witches bottle how to would be interesting, I already make my own but I absolutely love comparing techniques with other people, it's always good to see how other witches practice even if you dont necessarily need the lesson or plan on modifying your own techniques.

I love your video!! Thank you for being vulnerable in sharing this video and allowing yourself to revisit old work. I know for myself that the immediate thing to do is call yourself out and "cringe" at your old work/beliefs, yet that can be emotionally a lot. It's good to be able to be uncomfortable with our past actions/beliefs because it allows us to reflect on how we've change since... ya know?
Anyway, I'd encourage to allow yourself some grace, you do deserve whether you believe it or not! :D

We all change and mature in our practice. We begin knowing little and learning a lot. Then we do a lot because we know so little. As we go we find where our efforts matter most and we modify how we do the things we do. I like watching your path and learning along with you. Sometimes I learn new things and sometimes I see things I used to do as well. :) It is kind of strange, because I see your craft maturing and I am watching my daughter go through that same process. In two years you can look back and see the you know and still go, "What was I thinking!" It is the matter of course that we all take. Keep on! You are doing great.
I love your reactions. And yes please! I do witchy bottles and get hardly infos on what to do with them ones they are done.
Honestly, don't be too hard on your past self. At the time, your protection video was one of the most informative I'd found. (Actually all of your old videos were very informative compared to many others I'd seen.) It's also been helpful having a visual record of how your magical workings have changed as you've learned and matured in your practice. I hope you don't take the old videos down!

I love watching you revisit your past self! It's such a wonderful and fun learning experience to look back on where we were as compared to where we are now in our craft. I've been a practicing Appalacian folk witch for a little over 20 years, and I still do this about once a year or so, just to remind myself of my personal growth and progress. Personality and consistency go a long way on RUclips! Haha... But also, I think you're being a little hard on past you. We all grow, and learn more. And that is great to show off, because I don't think it's shown or talked about enough! I really appreciate that in this video. As a RUclipsr who tells their audience to think critically about what they consume, and research more than one source (even if the source is you) should help them not take everything as gospel... hopefully.

Frankie please don't be so mean to your younger self, they deserve better than that. You have clearly grown a lot since the video you reviewed but that's not an excuse to bully yourself. I remember finding your channel a few years ago when I was afraid of starting on my path and I remember how safe your teachings made me feel, they were flawed yes but you were very human. The camera angle was weird and your hair was messy and sometimes you spoke too fast, but that's what made us feel safe. You were approachable, a mentor but a peer and still learning, and we felt comfortable learning from you because it wasn't all perfect. If we made mistakes it was okay because you made them too, it felt like we were learning and growing with you and that was really special to us. So please, be kind to younger Frankie, they're the reason a lot of us are still here today.
I like your old self too ❤️ i watched both video one after the other because i just saw you yesterday for the first time, and i wondered about the position but i thought It was so spontaneus and nice! And i watched you with the eggshell and thought "maybe i should use mortar and pestel too" (since i have bought them but i am to lazy to take them out).. i mean, you never know 🙂 It felt like talking to a youger friend (i think i have maybe 20 years more than you) and you've grown so much and thats impressive. But your old self was good too. Meditation Is still a good suggestion even If you don't meditate 🙃... I wondered about the purple candels too 😂 but i guess you liked the colour or maybe you simply had that colour and used It... I like purple sooooo :D i like the old you too! A lot! Even the part where you put away your things! Felt like having a talk with a friends that is doing something while we (she) talks :P i love this kind of spontaneity :) thanks for sharing something from Italian culture. I am Italian from Italy and i know almost nothing 😑 i can share a prayer we say ti sant' Antonio , when we loose something. We Just Say "sant Antonio help me find this" three times. I can't Remember If It ever failed 🤔 i usually use It to find object that are lost but i know its there somewhere or that i just lost ..I Guess It can not work . . But It usually makes the trick. I wonder if you know where i could study Italian tradition....

Everyone’s growing and evolving and I seldom to never see anyone go “you know what: I’ve learnt since then I was wrong\just learning here.” So good on you for this. Bc I’m yet to see another do a series like this and is exactly why I’ll always say learn from books and if any human; an elder\chrone\veryyyy long time in practitioner not tiktokers. In my experience most real witches hate witchtok and is why I left. I think covid boosted this new age modern practices and it’s frankly bloody dangerous. Pls be careful what you take in on that app lads seriously.

Nahh Frankie you discussing how it's easier to do things physically rather than visual when having aphantasia!! I've been struggling with some aspects of witchcraft since so much information is on the visual and I can't visualise shit lol
Too much of witchcraft is so about visualizing and things in the mental - but physically doing things is so fun. Even as a strong visualizer, I feel like we need more space for individuals with aphantasia in the community, or even those who prefer doing physical things in their Craft.

I remember watching this video and thinking “these are some great ideas…but how do they have the energy to do all this??” And you were definitely not the only person who talked about protection this way, all the witches on TikTok talked like “if you try to do any kind of magic without at least 7 layers of protection, you’re a fking idiot” LOL. At least you were nice and encouraging! But it was reassuring to hear present you keep saying “yeah, I don’t do that anymore.” 😂

Loved this video! remember when it came out! As I work with children in daycare, especially babies, I use my uniform for colour magick and wear small, discrete jewellery that the babies cannot pull on for protection a long with other things. Please do a "how to" video on witches' bottle?? Lots of love from the UK

Hello, Frankie... want to ask you something. Well, here in my country Brazil, we are a country with very miscigenated ethnics. I myself am white, with a lot of my ancestry on Portugal, Italy and Africa too probably.... well, here, "close practices" doesn't exist at all... I myself am a son of a orisa in a African-brazilian religion of here. But my question is... I'm a little lost with my heritage on Italy. I have both the names "galletti" and "stroppa" on my name. Do you know where can I learn more about my heritage, and specifically about witchcraft on my bloodline? And well... I am very pagan... folk Italian practices are inherently Christian?
