Battle traps matter so much in these old formats where all it takes is a high ATK monster for things to otherwise snowball out of control. Those being useful are probably one of the few things I miss from back then. Though I like playing rather grindy decks so the fast pace of the modern game doesn't really affect me as much as other people.
Damn, Seerax is amazing for Yugioh duel narrating, explaining what the cards does, even if it's for fun, is so immersing and wholesome. And Rhyme is really cool, he sounds like he's having way more fun than when playing solo. You guys rock!

@Rhymestyle: The reason for diffrent dimension gate, when Rhym compulse the token, it still banish is monster, was because it says banish those target, if it would have said banish both, then rhym would not have to do anything since a token monster does not get banish, his monster would not have been banish.
funny interaction with the gate and chip, it only returns the monster if destroyed, if you return it to the hand the monsters stay banished and you can use it on other monsters

I have a Jackpot 7 deck that utilizes giving Dark Scorpion Burglars to my opponent. It's usually an OTK. Using that Hippo token spell card, that summons 3. But might take a second turn. And yes, it is a legal deck. I like building gimmick decks. And alternate win conditions. There's probably a better way to build the deck. But I like simplicity. I know how it sucks sitting there 10 or so minutes watching your opponent combo out. So fucking boring, lol. Oh man, speaking of that. Just the other day. I played someone in Duel Master who was using Relay Soul and that gemini bunny card (forgot the name of). That can't be targeted, no damage, bla bla bla. It was so satisfying to return it to their hand with my Abyss Actor deck. It was a nice win, lol. It would be interesting if there was a way to force your opponent to use Relay Soul. I think there might have been some convoluted way. But I haven't really cared enough to look further into it.

@@korn516 The original game was hella toxic, had tons of FTK's and locks and just tried to make sure the opponent couldn't play, nowadays is SO much better tbh, only real problem card being Mystic Mine.

@@korn516 PSCT = problem-solving card text. It was needed to make the card texts less vague and therefore easier to interpret. There are some cards from early yugioh that are solely on the banlist to this day because their vague texts make them a ruling nightmare in tournaments. And yeah the game evolved over time. It had to if Konami didn't want the game to become stale as hell with just monsters, spells and traps. You should give modern yugioh a chance. It's more complex but it also has so much more variety and depth. It's fun to explore all the new possibilities and ways to play. The new mechanics aren't even that difficult to understand. Take it step by step. I know it, I was in your position not too long ago. Stopped before white cards were even a thing and had to catch up through youtube videos and the wiki (mostly for specific rulings).
the Ojama Tokens can't be used to tribute summon. the card text does not say anything about the tokens being used as Synchro materials, it worked for me in master duel, haven't tried yet with XYZ or Link though
You can't XYZ with them because of the Token's own rules (doesn't exist if it's not on the field, and being a material isn't 'on the field'), but you can link some of them. A lot of Link monsters specifically mention non-token requirements.
