- Yamaha FZ1 ride with S1000RR almost goes bad. My friend @gohardorhomefz1 has never rode real twisty roads before. He quicky finds out that Tail of the Dragon is a different kind of road. Luckily, he makes it. Barely... lol Onboard S1000RR. @FireBladeFedy onboard CBR1000RR.

Fz1 guy was clearly over his head and a bit in danger. He entered early, too slow, then rolls on extra, gets right to the edge and often makes mid turn changes. I'm glad luck was with him.
Horrible and bizarre riding position too
When you ride slow you dont need to worry about line selection its when you start going fast .. it’s obviously good practice to do it at any speed but doesnt matter at low speeds

got to lean his head towards the outside of the mirrors, not keep in the center. he is fighting his body.
FZ rider is moving his ass but there's no movement of his shoulders or head. A little more work on body positioning and corner awareness and he'd be killing it.
Blue bird is an awesome bike to tackle the dragon. The rider still has some developing to do. Looked like a fun time though!
FZ1 guy needs to have better head position. He moves his body inside but has his head and chest pointed outside. Rushes corners and trail braking needs work. Glad Wristy took it slow with him. Sad to say this guy is gonna end up in a bad way if he doesn't get some formal training. Take the Yamaha Champ School online course. It'll help you ride faster safer on the street. Start there because it's cheap and then do a track school at some point. He's giving the motorcycle way too many conflicting inputs mid turn. Something bad will eventually happen. I don't want to see anyone hurt. It's heartbreaking. Please be safe and at least do some training in a safer environment. Practicing getting knee down and body positioning in a parking lot. This is not the place to learn.
A few track days and dude on the FZ1 will have max running for his money for sure

@@spar8334 yeah I'm sure he was worried about having good body position and lean angle and going fast to show off to the people watching but that shows what kind of guy he is and what kind of rider he is. Idk maybe he doesn't practice technique but showing off is dangerous. Ride smooth to ride fast. Maybe he saw my comment and took it into consideration.

Body position is the main problem.
Wow and no modern rider aids , traction and abs not existent looks like a bike and skill only . New run too thats impressive
do the best you can in one lane without even hitting the lines, try for out in out on every corner, it really is the fastest line, especially with a FZ-1.
that bike seems (the one you followed in the beginning) to be in much need of adjusting his suspension, and with lack of skills it is a very bad combination and a setup for disaster.

The FZ1 rider has potential, if he went to a track school he'd be good to go. They'll also teach him how to trail brake. The FZ1 (not naked) is the best street/sport bike ever created.

@@BikingVikingHH Suspension mods are better than horsepower mods if you turn corners. On my FZ1 I have a Penske shock and the forks got revalved by Traxxion. Totally transformed the bike, it keeps the tires planted into the ground with a wider contact patch when you have it leaned over. Gets rid of most of the brake dive and is just a smoother ride overall because the suspension doesn't move as much. And raising the forks on the FZ1 about 10-12 mm's makes it turn a little quicker. It's a little too slow for me from the factory. Takes about 10 minutes to do that.

Why didnt you warn him his body position is completely off every turn he leans. Hes trying to keep his head up right. Hes hiting the brakes mid turn? You dont ride fast with someone like that.

That guy on the Fz1 is a hazard on the road. No idea how to approach a corner. I would be scared to go behind him because i would be waiting for a crash of him!

Well, it's a year old video so i doubt my comment will reach you @MaxWrist Life , HOWEVER this is why i've stopped the video @ 3:04 mark :
Your Fazer partner is a complete noob on riding; i'm getting scared and frustrated at the same time, so advice him to fix these simple things..
A. When you're about to perform a turn, you LEAN out of your bike (and your comfort zone) with your knee closest to the direction of the turn, OUT of your bike while stepping on your toes on the pegs; you don't move just your hips from the seat and keeping your knees tight to the tank because that makes the bike unstable and unpredictable, tending to open her (yes, bike is a she) trajectory instead of closing it.
B. Also when you're about to perform a turn, you're steering just briefly to the OPPOSITE way of the turn; that's called COUNTERSTEERING and helps the bike as a unit to exploit the full geometry and angles for a safer driving.
C. When you're performing the turn, you're aiming at the top of the corner (called APEX) to be your "tightest" point of trajectory; that is achievable by starting wide, moving/entering to the apex, exiting wide again.
D. While you're performing the turn, YOU DON'T. USE. YOUR DAMN. BRAKES. but you keep your throttle at low rpms maintaining a steady speed, twisting it progressively at higher rpms then to exit (if you twist it harsly you'll end up highsiding).
E. During the turn, and while you lean your body, you don't keep your head locked in as you did before the turn nor your arms tight; you're adjusting the movement of it, and loosen your arms, so you can have a better prespective of the road ahead and the surroundings while you'll achieve a lower gravity point that makes you control the bike easier.
So, for the love of everything sacred and important out there, please LEARN to ride before you hop into your bikes again.

That is too much bike for that guy he needs to concentrate on being smooth and looking ahead. FZ1 is no slouch
