    By far one of the most insightful Crowdfunding interviews yet! Emily Best lays it out clearly and thoughtfully, and she's adorable too. Thanks Film Courage, once again.

    Excellent interview with really great questions. Some of which I felt as if I had asked them myself lol. Was very specific. You can see Emily is excited to help and wants everyone to win. I love what she said about building your audience as well as remaining truly independent which is something I thought privately for a while. was awesome to hear the confirmation, I feel like I'm on the right track. Thank you!!

    Amazing Emily! I have a video production company and am in the process of writing a script for my first feature. I thought I had all the creative elements I needed until I saw this! I know I have to start my campaign, but was intimidated. This video got me excited about getting the word out there, not only to promote my movie, but to share what I'm passionate about...thanks again!!

    Thank you so much for a very informative and entertaining video. Ms. Best seems very knowledgeable and full of enthusiasm for filmmaking. I knew nothing about crowdfunding and now I feel I have an idea about what I need to do to finish my short film. I think I will go to Seed & Spark now and get on it! Thanks again!

    Thank you for this very informative Interview. It gave me lots of ideas for a possible crowdfunding campaign. I might have two private investors though but in case they drop out I now have a back-up plan. I will definitely check out the website. Too bad it seems the distribution channels are only for movies through Seed&Spark as far as I can see it at the moment.

    Trying to write an essay on this topic currently... There aren't enough people writing this sort of stuff down and getting it into academic journals.
    This information is so useful, but I'm going to struggle to use it, as it's from a RUclips video... especially when MLA referencing doesn't even have an official way to reference RUclips videos...
    *sigh*

    I think filmmakers should open up their cinema venues when they make films. Showcase their own films and film festival films. Promote the local venue instead the particular films.

    I love your thoughts on "pandering to the audience." Such an arrogant thing to say. Do people think Hitchcock "pandered" to his audience? Hell no, he respected his audience's intelligence and that is one of the many reasons he is so revered (misogyny aside, a whole history topic for another day). Great stuff and so glad I found your videos. Some of the smartest commentary on the current state of the indie film industry that I've come across.

    I'm pretty sure that this comment will get deleted since it's evident that negativity is not tolerated by Film Courage. I found about 20% of the information in this video to be useful. I found the speaker to be incredibly sarcastic and condescending. She states at one point, "It is way easier to fail at a crowdfunding campaign than it is to succeed." I think the whole reason why anyone would begin watching this video is because this is something that they already knew.

    SNOOZE FEST! You are talking about a primarily visual medium and NOT giving us any visual representations of what you are talking about. You are pleasantly enthusiastic and passionate about how to best approach asking for funding and how to distribute BUT visuals of mistakes and fixes would be so much more informative and lasting for most audiences interested in your procedure. Thank you for sharing your knowledge now make it more relevantly more accessible.

    Thank you for this now I know what not to do. Jay - the director from super troopers stated the same statement. Crowd funding is possible but you can't request something without at least offering can we use your name for credit or would you like to appear as an extra

    • @JackMarchetti29
      @JackMarchetti29 9 лет назад +1

      Film Courage She just lays waste and shreds many misconceptions from those on the outside who believe this isn't real work and very difficult to those who don't take it seriously and just throw up some page and think people will find you. She's great, although I'm a total "start video, talk to camera" guy, I just rely on Nine Inch Nails - Ghosts creative commons license to instill a sense of emotion in my delivery. :)

      Hi Eddie, If you already knew %100 of what Emily shared then this wasn’t the video for you. You are certainly a more advanced student of this topic than I am because I learned a lot. Perhaps you could make a video about the successful crowdfunding campaigns you’ve run and keep the information flowing. Take care.
