Some governments take it seriously, others don't. And it's worth pointing out rock n roll actually was a multiracial invention - in the US South in the mid-1950s. Great black and white musicians blended delta blues, Chicago blues, gospel, country and bluegrass and produced something new. The greatest early rock records were made by black and white musicians and singers, collaborating. The great session musicians who played on decades of rock and roll hits in New York, Memphis, Muscle Shoals and Detroit, combined black and white musicians and singers. Influential white rock bands of the 1960s, like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin frequently referenced their respect and admiration for the black musicians who inspired them. But you're right - some people know very little about how rock and roll developed.
