Either he mis spoke or is very confused. Precession is the changing of the north star not the changing of the magnetic North. That is Obliquity Climate Change is caused by the Milankovitch cycles. Obliquity caused Global warming Precession causes global tsunami's.

Allow me to also join in on the congratulations you deserve in this well done video and explanation. My question is why is it that the planet's axis is neatly precessing around a point that would otherwise be oriented perfectly North/South to the sun. Since nothing is ever perfect (seemingly) I would have guessed that precession would have been oriented around a "precessional axis" (making words up here as I don't have the proper knowledge) that is itself at some imperfect angle. Hope this question makes sense. Thank you very much.
if air is pumped underneath isn't that a force pushing on the ball? i get that it makes gravity moot by lifting the weight and thus no friction of the metals but isn't air something? and the air above the ball and air must be moving out and around the ball and then air above is being moved through then the resistance of a the rod? speaking of which how does the rod help? you can't put colors on the on the ball? dots would blend into a line and we could then see the angle move idk I'm dumb i guess
Is this means that along with this precession, seasons are also slightly shifting possition around the sun? If so, then after some thousands of years we would see stars that now could be seen in winter, we will see them in summer? I don't know if someone will understand my question...
This is probably a dumb question, but the Earth doesn't have a counter-weight to cause precession, as in your model. How do you assume then that the Earth achieves precession, given there is no counter-weight? Shouldn't a model be accurate?
if you haven't found the answer yourself, the applied weight IMO is analogous to the fact that the Earth isn't spherical and so the lunisol's gravity is not uniform
If the axis of rotation would move in a 23 degree angle around the earth like in this experiment than the backward circle it would draw in the sky would be huge!! Way bigger then that group of polar stars Are we missing something here?
Do the seasons move in lockstep along with the precession of the North Pole ? In otherwords, would the Winter position of the earth in orbit around the sun be opposite of what it was 13,000 earlier - Summer ? I’m confused on this point. Otherwise a very useful video.
Interesting that there is a slight wobble as it precesses - would this correspond to a small periodic variation in the obliquity of the Earth from 23.5 degrees to slightly smaller or greater angles over the course of 26,000 years i.e. is the obliquity of the earth always 23.5 degrees?

Very nice explanation!! I've one question. Earth rotates around its axis and around the Sun counter-clockwise. If precision moves counter-clockwise too. Then why the tropical year less than the sidereal year? it should be more. Thanks.
In this experiment the imbalance is trying to tip the ball over. The tidal force acting on earth equatorial bulge is trying to force earth upright. Opposite forces cause opposite precession.
@@Astronomynatureandmusic He moved the weigh outwards from the balance point. This caused counter-clockwise precession. If he had moved it inwards instead, the precession would have been clockwise. And the inward moved weight would have been analogous to Earth under tidal forces as in both cases the force is trying to turn the ball 'pole up'. The outward moved weight is trying to tip it over.

Its going to be incorrect because you are locking one of the third dimension axis in place. This is not the case in nature of the universe . The earth also travels on a galactic plane which wobbles above and below the zero point and this simply creates too many variables to accurately document or predict via model a perfect and exact analysis.
Of course it effects Earth's temperature. Actually, it is one of three reasons for big climate changes - the others are Earth's orbit eccentricity and Earth's axial tilt. Google "Milankovic cycles".
The ball was circling around but the rod was what was actually processing as it rotated around like the pole of the earth does. Also, this model has a fixed gravitational anchor on the ball's bottom that allows the ball to precess around, but the earth has no fixed gravitational anchor on its bottom that holds the earth in place so it can precess around it. So what holds the earth anchored at the bottom so the top of the earth can precess?
That is unfortunate. The spin is caused by momentum from the time the earth formed. We can observe, that the earth spin slows down over time, that is why we add seconds from time to time. Magnetism is a result of induction in the molten core of the earth.
Is Earth's precision also a function of the position of the magnetic poles? Do they have anything to do with it at all? If so what happens to the precision when they inevitably reverse?
Actually, earth is fixed and immovable exactly as the Bible describes. It is the _stars_ that rotate within earth's rotating magnetic field along with the sun and moon. The WMAP probes and the Planck satellite proved this.

The counter weight is the moon. The closer the moon is, the faster we spin(does this control time). I think so. If the moon is what science says it is then the moon could used by a sentient intelligence to control time.

kinda odd that a toy gyroscope on the space station exhibits no "procession" what so ever. it is almost as if it is the centrifugal force on the counter weight that is causing the procession around a fixed point at the base. I am betting that if you tip that ball so that the rod is parallel to the table and add a second rod and weight to the balance opposite end then rotate it on that axis there would be no observed procession at all.

You can look back to Egyptian times 4000-6000 years ago where we have very good documented evidence the seasons were exactly the same as they are now. They celebrated the helical rising of Sirius on the exact same date it occurs today as an indicator of the seasonal flooding of the Nile. A occurrence which still occurred exactly in line with their traditional date up until the 1970's when the Nile was damed. If the seasons really were changing then this seasonal occurrence would have shifted by a quarter of a year in the time period since the Egyptian started recording it. But it hasn't moved at all. Literally not one bit in 6000 years. The theory is not supported by any evidence we have on the historical climate of the earth. In fact the evidence we have collected shows it to be very flawed. It was developed by Newton in 1687 when the heliocentric model of the solar system had only recently been accepted after Copernicus work. Thus only the sun and moon was used as the basis for explaining this motion. We now understand that the Sun is not the center of the universe. Our solar system also moves through the galaxy .... but we have not adjusted our models and understanding to reflect this.
+j parks Quite literally scientist realized that history showed the seasons didn't change at all which would disprove this theory. Knowing this error but trying to keep the wobble theory afloat a number of years back they started fudging numbers and made adjustments to earths orbit geometry around the sun to account for this. They decided that instead of 360 degree orbit equinox to equinox which we had always calculated on ..... it must only be 359 degrees 59’ and 10” equinox to equinox. This change allowed the equinoxes to fall at the same month with precession causing the period between equinoxes to be slightly less then 360 degrees. It does make sense mathematically on the surface ..... but when you look closer there are huge holes in the theory. Firstly the moons orbit around earth does not match with the new shortened orbital path around the sun. We can tell this by our calculations for eclipses which we base on a 360 degree orbit around the sun. If we adjust these for a shorter orbital path .... it no longer matches with observed eclipse times. Secondly over the past couple of hundred years the rate of precession has been slowly speeding up meaning scientist are having to go back and make minor adjustments to the earths orbital geometry around the sun so it still makes sense. They have no idea why the wobble is speeding up and simply ignore the fact that nothing in the theory explains this. If you change the theory and account for precession by the curved motion of the entire solar system through the galaxy all of these glaring issues dissapear. If you take a view that curved path is caused by the Suns orbit around a binary or multistar system then the math still makes sense. The moons eclipse cycle matches reality and the increase speed of precession can be accounted for by Keplers laws of orbital motion. Orbiting bodies will increase speed (and thus so will the precession rate) as they come closer to each other. The only reason we haven't proved this yet and changed theories is the huge orbital period of 24,000-26,000 years makes it extremely difficult to observe and detect the star system we are connected with. Whilst our ability to track position of stars in the sky goes back some way .... our ability to understand how the galaxy works and track our solar systems position in it is very very recent.
AngrySam Precession makes our seasons occur at a slightly earlier position in Earth's orbit each year; but our calendar, with leap-year adjustment, is tied to the seasons. So we see no seasonal drift year on year. What we see is that the Sun's position during each season is shifted slightly against the background stars compared to its position in previous years.
I don't think earth has a pole extending out from it with a weight on the end of it. Remember gravity is not a force .a feather or a million ton building fall at the same rate.if we look at persession and think of it as another axis ,Then that rotation is 1 1/25000 per year which would give you winter and summer.
Once that happens in about 26000 years as is proclaimed by many, the earth will have only one season all around the year depending upon the distance from the equator. That will be disastrous for all living beings as far as I can see. Someone can correct me if he has better knowledge.

I have not found anything that explains or accounts for the lack of curvature and motion in reality. Do you have any direct evidence besides shadows on the moon and the path of the sun that indicates you live on a spinning ball? How do you account for the observations we are able to make at over 200 miles that show zero curvature whatsoever?

Now, please know that your graphic overlay of the Northern stars (as seen at 2:30) is ... upside down! Since we're looking at your spinning sphere from above (i.e. from the Northern celestial skies), your graphic overlay of the Northern stars is totally wrong (by 180°). In reality, of course, we observe the Northern stars from below - not from above. The so-called Lunisolar theory of precession (a.k.a. "Earth's 3d motion") has long been disproven, since it cannot account for astronomical observation (only the stars precess "backwards" by about 50.3" annually - whereas our surrounding planets do not). What do you do when the seasonal sun in 400 years goes 3 days less than rising Sothic star; BUT rising Regulus sidereal star goes 3 days more than Sothic star in 400 years; BUT circling polar star Seth goes 9 days more than Sothic star (6 days more than sidereal Regulus)? Great video however your experiment fails to demonstrate the validity of the widely accepted Earth wobble theory: in the wobble model, the directions of Earth's axial rotation and its wobble rotation are in opposition (if we are looking down from above the North pole, the Earth would appear to rotate counter-clockwise while Earth's 'wobble' would appear to rotate clockwise); empirical experiments such as yours (or the spinning top toys shown in the first sequences of your video) show the opposite: the direction of axial rotation and of 'wobble' rotation is the same. Moreover, your Northern hemisphere star map overlay is displayed as if it would be seen from below by an observer located on the (Northern) surface of Earth, yet your rotating globe's North pole rod is facing towards the viewer! The observed reality is precisely the opposite: if the globe were (hypothetically) turned (correctly) upside down (its North pole rod facing the Northern hemisphere star map, away from us) and continued to rotate, the (experimental) direction of rotation would be opposite that which is observed in your video and show stars preceding _westwards._ Your experiment confuses North and South and thus demonstrates the opposite of observed stellar precession: observed stellar precession shows stars move _eastwards;_ how do you explain this contradiction? are physical laws on the surface of Earth distinct from those affecting it from space? You make the claim, as have other similar videos attempting to explain the Earth wobble theory, that _"the technical details behind precession are beyond the physics covered in introductory astronomy"_ : you say this even though your experiment disproves your theory, a suspicious coincidence to say the least. The earth "wobble" theory describes a motion that cannot be reproduced; and when attempted, such as in this experiment, observed motion is the opposite of predicted motion.

Because then after 13,000 years when the exis is 180 degrees opposite, summer would be Winter and the sun and the planets should also precess, but they don't!!! So there is no way to tell how wide the parallax is!!! Back to Sirius and the zodiac! The zodiac signs are global and known by every civilization spread out all over the World and spread out in time! Hello there. I am watching this video for school and I don't want anyone in my class falling for this nonsense. The definition of a "year" in our calendar system takes this precession into account. It's called the tropical year. If we used the sidereal year instead then that would indeed happen.

My question is why is it that the planet's axis is neatly precessing around a point that would otherwise be oriented perfectly North/South to the sun. Since nothing is ever perfect (seemingly) I would have guessed that precession would have been oriented around a "precessional axis" (making words up here as I don't have the proper knowledge) that is itself at some imperfect angle. Hope this question makes sense. Thank you very much.

if air is pumped underneath isn't that a force pushing on the ball? i get that it makes gravity moot by lifting the weight and thus no friction of the metals but isn't air something? and the air above the ball and air must be moving out and around the ball and then air above is being moved through then the resistance of a the rod? speaking of which how does the rod help? you can't put colors on the on the ball? dots would blend into a line and we could then see the angle move idk I'm dumb i guess

This is probably a dumb question, but the Earth doesn't have a counter-weight to cause precession, as in your model. How do you assume then that the Earth achieves precession, given there is no counter-weight? Shouldn't a model be accurate?
if you haven't found the answer yourself, the applied weight IMO is analogous to the fact that the Earth isn't spherical and so the lunisol's gravity is not uniform

If the axis of rotation would move in a 23 degree angle around the earth like in this experiment than the backward circle it would draw in the sky would be huge!! Way bigger then that group of polar stars

In this experiment the imbalance is trying to tip the ball over. The tidal force acting on earth equatorial bulge is trying to force earth upright. Opposite forces cause opposite precession.

@@Astronomynatureandmusic He moved the weigh outwards from the balance point. This caused counter-clockwise precession. If he had moved it inwards instead, the precession would have been clockwise. And the inward moved weight would have been analogous to Earth under tidal forces as in both cases the force is trying to turn the ball 'pole up'. The outward moved weight is trying to tip it over.

Its going to be incorrect because you are locking one of the third dimension axis in place. This is not the case in nature of the universe . The earth also travels on a galactic plane which wobbles above and below the zero point and this simply creates too many variables to accurately document or predict via model a perfect and exact analysis.

Also, this model has a fixed gravitational anchor on the ball's bottom that allows the ball to precess around, but the earth has no fixed gravitational anchor on its bottom that holds the earth in place so it can precess around it. So what holds the earth anchored at the bottom so the top of the earth can precess?

kinda odd that a toy gyroscope on the space station exhibits no "procession" what so ever. it is almost as if it is the centrifugal force on the counter weight that is causing the procession around a fixed point at the base. I am betting that if you tip that ball so that the rod is parallel to the table and add a second rod and weight to the balance opposite end then rotate it on that axis there would be no observed procession at all.

You can look back to Egyptian times 4000-6000 years ago where we have very good documented evidence the seasons were exactly the same as they are now. They celebrated the helical rising of Sirius on the exact same date it occurs today as an indicator of the seasonal flooding of the Nile. A occurrence which still occurred exactly in line with their traditional date up until the 1970's when the Nile was damed.
If the seasons really were changing then this seasonal occurrence would have shifted by a quarter of a year in the time period since the Egyptian started recording it. But it hasn't moved at all. Literally not one bit in 6000 years. The theory is not supported by any evidence we have on the historical climate of the earth. In fact the evidence we have collected shows it to be very flawed. It was developed by Newton in 1687 when the heliocentric model of the solar system had only recently been accepted after Copernicus work. Thus only the sun and moon was used as the basis for explaining this motion.
We now understand that the Sun is not the center of the universe. Our solar system also moves through the galaxy .... but we have not adjusted our models and understanding to reflect this.
+j parks Quite literally scientist realized that history showed the seasons didn't change at all which would disprove this theory. Knowing this error but trying to keep the wobble theory afloat a number of years back they started fudging numbers and made adjustments to earths orbit geometry around the sun to account for this. They decided that instead of 360 degree orbit equinox to equinox which we had always calculated on ..... it must only be 359 degrees 59’ and 10” equinox to equinox. This change allowed the equinoxes to fall at the same month with precession causing the period between equinoxes to be slightly less then 360 degrees.
It does make sense mathematically on the surface ..... but when you look closer there are huge holes in the theory. Firstly the moons orbit around earth does not match with the new shortened orbital path around the sun. We can tell this by our calculations for eclipses which we base on a 360 degree orbit around the sun. If we adjust these for a shorter orbital path .... it no longer matches with observed eclipse times.
Secondly over the past couple of hundred years the rate of precession has been slowly speeding up meaning scientist are having to go back and make minor adjustments to the earths orbital geometry around the sun so it still makes sense. They have no idea why the wobble is speeding up and simply ignore the fact that nothing in the theory explains this.
If you change the theory and account for precession by the curved motion of the entire solar system through the galaxy all of these glaring issues dissapear. If you take a view that curved path is caused by the Suns orbit around a binary or multistar system then the math still makes sense. The moons eclipse cycle matches reality and the increase speed of precession can be accounted for by Keplers laws of orbital motion. Orbiting bodies will increase speed (and thus so will the precession rate) as they come closer to each other.
The only reason we haven't proved this yet and changed theories is the huge orbital period of 24,000-26,000 years makes it extremely difficult to observe and detect the star system we are connected with. Whilst our ability to track position of stars in the sky goes back some way .... our ability to understand how the galaxy works and track our solar systems position in it is very very recent.
AngrySam Precession makes our seasons occur at a slightly earlier position in Earth's orbit each year; but our calendar, with leap-year adjustment, is tied to the seasons. So we see no seasonal drift year on year. What we see is that the Sun's position during each season is shifted slightly against the background stars compared to its position in previous years.

Great video however your experiment fails to demonstrate the validity of the widely accepted Earth wobble theory: in the wobble model, the directions of Earth's axial rotation and its wobble rotation are in opposition (if we are looking down from above the North pole, the Earth would appear to rotate counter-clockwise while Earth's 'wobble' would appear to rotate clockwise); empirical experiments such as yours (or the spinning top toys shown in the first sequences of your video) show the opposite: the direction of axial rotation and of 'wobble' rotation is the same. Moreover, your Northern hemisphere star map overlay is displayed as if it would be seen from below by an observer located on the (Northern) surface of Earth, yet your rotating globe's North pole rod is facing towards the viewer! In 1920 did Shapely attend in the greate debate AGAINST external nebulae's=Galaxies! But Mt wilson had it's 100 inch mirror based telescope installed.
With this telescope did the WORLD "discover" the universe and found layer upon layer of Galaxies.
But still after 3 years in operation couldn't Shapley and E Hubble even see the Andromeda galaxy. They couldn't even imagine external Galaxies so Shapley argued against them.
One question one must ask is, from where did the at the time few scientists speaking for Galaxies get the idea that Galaxies existed at all??
If no human EVER had seen any Galaxies and the Worlds ONLY and most powerful telescope working for 3 years still couldn't see even the Andromeda galaxy, FROM WHERE DID THE GALAXY IDEA COME FROM???
Understand this!! Almost everyone in the field was against the theory of Galaxies in 1920, but you will have a hard time find any information about that anymore. If you manage to find some old books or unedited documents or lucky on internet, you'll see it was so. But most of it has been burried or rewritten!!

Depending on how far away objects are from your finger the parallax increases!
So there is no way to tell how wide the parallax is!!!

Gravity hoax!
The gravity are supposed to be stronger closer to the centre of the object and depends on the mass..
So earths gravity at surface is stronger than at say 50 altitude... In fact the gravity at the surface is stronger than 1 meter above the surface...
This means that if you jump up from the ground you already have broken out from the strongest gravitation and should keep flying up!! And if you have the moon above you then you should be pulled towards the moon just as the water is claimed to be pulled by moons gravity...
But since you by your jump already have broken through the strongest field of gravity you should be able to jump to the moon!!!
And no one of you can find 1(one) single observation showing earth as a ball, except the CGI images and paintings by nazi nasa!!

The definition of a "year" in our calendar system takes this precession into account. It's called the tropical year. If we used the sidereal year instead then that would indeed happen.
