I hate how this band is barely even recognized by the metal community when they are probably one of the most talented groups of musicians I mean I can only imagine how much time they spend on writing these masterpieces.
I don't want to sound condescending but it's because there are better bands that get attention. I'm a fan of Allegaeon and surprisingly, their new album is getting quite a bit of hype in the metal community. However, with that being said, bands like Inferi have released similar albums this year and they didn't get too much attention either. No clue why. It's Melodic Death Metal with amazing guitar work. What more to ask for?
they still have a drummer. I just saw them live a couple weeks ago, so i can testify on their behalf. They absolutely can play this shit live. They are the kind of band that clearly rocks out in their sleep or something

If only the vocals matched the complexity of the musicianship. The guitar work is phenomenal, but the vocals are one-dimensional screaming. Not an equitable exchange.

because what they write is not that hard/complex/inventive, at least compared to what technical death metal is today.

These guys are just ridiculously talented. Burgess and Glisan are seamless in their transitions and work so well together. Love this band.
That intro reminds me a lot of Jason Becker. Fantastic.
