Part 2: Planting Purple Potatoes in Whiskey Barrels Zone 7b

This is part two of the series of potato from seeds to harvest. I am planting my potatoes in 20 gallon whiskey barrels that I bought from Home Depot and I am trying to experiment on using two different methods one of which is filling up the entire barrel all the way to the top and then the other method is going to be the hilling Method where I gradually feel the barrel with soil as the potato grows. Let’s see what happens and part 3 Will be about the harvesting of the potato.

What happened to the hilling method vs the others?

I have tried the hilling method before several times and it did not work for me so it was not part of this experiment. Hope you have a good season
