    The best part of the Behmor is the company behind it. I’ve owned two of them. The first was the original which died of used inflicted abuse. I just installed the 2000AB upgrade on my 1600 Plus. The $115 upgrade hardware was totally worth it. It’s easy to get parts for the Behmor and the tech support is top notch.

    Thanks for the video. I got mine two weeks ago and have gotten some really nice roasts so far....as well as burnouts, spills and the dreaded safety shutdown cycle. I've had no luck using the Pre-set Functions (1-5), so I only use this in Manual mode which has been great.

      Yep. It's definitely has a learning curve, but once you dial it in, you can get great results

    Have roasted hundreds of pounds in this unit. Do not use the presets at all. Manual controls do allow you to get profiles dialed pretty good. Still learning about how to fine tune the roasts but this toaster works really well and is inexpensive. Would like to be able to connect to one of the logging software programs to be able to track roast profiles (is artisan). Hopefully in future upgrades

      They are bringing out a new 2020sr but I think it’s more of the same. Thinking to get one but also considering the ikawa home roaster. If you have any advice please get in touch with me

    I've got an old Gene Cafe roaster - 14 years - heating element just broke for the second time (it was replaces once about 8 years ago) so it's time to move on. Would love to see you review the modern gene cafe - though even if you did it will probably be after I find my replacement. Been trying to find someone who has reviewed both of these two to get contrasting opinions from the same source. That noted, would have loved to see a close up of the beans you roasted with this - I keep reading that the Behmor roast is too light, but it looked like you had a medium-dark roast there.

      I haven't used the Gene, but they are likely comparable. Roasted this one to second crack, so definitely dark roast (full city+). It can roast as light or dark as you want

    Can you review the Bocaboca Roaster and Kaldi roaster both from Korea?

      I'd love to! But I don't own them and can't afford them. I would if someone sent me them. Lol

    I think more than a review this was an overview and walk through. I still still appreciate the time put into this video, perhaps in the future it would be nice to have a more concise video of what's good and what's bad about this roaster.

      Thanks for the comment! Tried to sprinkle pros and cons in through out. A lot is subjective. It's a decent roaster, and hard to beat at this price point

  • @earlystrings1

    Have used it for years. The Behmor is the only roaster that will give professional level results without spending over a grand. It takes some attention and you have to read the manual carefully and buy some decent green coffee, but my first roast was great, and I’ve done hundreds since. The P1 preset works well although you will soon move to manual operation. Note that, while you can do it, is not really for French roasting, basically burning your coffee by taking it past second crack. If you like that style, just buy Starbucks since you can’t taste anything but roast at that point anyway.

    That cooling session seemed quite long- should you really let them sit like that even for over a second?

    • @CorkandJava
      @CorkandJava  4 года назад

      I wouldn't use the cooling in the machine. And keep them moving as much as possible

      @@matthull5252 AGREED- should have put more effort into the cooling process. Personally I pour my beans into 2 different trays over and over again, it cools them so effectively, and takes away any extra husks. Leaving them sit like I thought they were going to light on fire.

    Hated my Behmor. Read thru the owners manual multiple times, warched a ton of videos and never could find a standard manner to roast. Couldnt wait to sell it on line. Would NOT recommend this item!
