- Let's discuss the 3 most common Chipping errors I see amateur golfers making on an all too frequent basis! Poor contact is a worldwide epidemic that defines bad short games. Golfers that cannot make solid contact, cannot have any control of their golf ball around the green. Fat... Thin... Top... Chunk!
This video will show you how to identify the most common mistakes and help you fix them with simple drills. Once you're striking your chip shots more consistently, your score will begin to improve immediately!

Rob, you are my favorite instructor on RUclips. My only complaint is that I wish we could watch you play more! Those Drawberry matches are classic. Other than that, your in depth videos are top notch, and I wouldn't be progressing at the rate I am without your dedication.
Brilliant stuff, highlighting common mistakes & fixes! Thanks for sharing, Rob
Great vlog Rob thank you will definitely try.
Great chipping video!!! thanks for being on RUclips
Chipping has been a weak spot for me, so I have been working on it this winter. So this video has been very timely & helpful. I realize that I have been pulling the club inside a lot, so I am working on keeping the club on plane as per mistake #2. I think of it as pushing the club out as I draw it back. Looking forward to more short game instruction. Thanks Rob.
Rob, I have become a real disciple of your teaching. I was hoping that you would encourage the use of the body pivot approach that Parker McLaclin has focused on. It is the approach that Jason Day and Steve Stricker use as you probably know. Good work and keep it up. Steve
Thank you!
Thanks Rob, based on my following your tips for a few years now, if found that chipping bleeds into the hit hard stop quick drill as well. For the next few months ill try and master this and take another step towards puring irons hybrids woods and driver.
@@golftecasia my last round I was 2 over par after 9. Playing off 15, I was chuffed (let's not discuss the way back in)
Rob you're a legend
Very helpful, but what club are you using?
Nice one Rob!
@@golftecasia yes sir!!!
Good stuff..guess weight more on the left thru out the motion?
Do these fundamentals of chip and pitch apply to full swings as well? could you lengthen this motion to hit say a 7 iron with upper arms connected as torso turns back and thru while arms stay straight!
I just use a putting stroke.
