Meet the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly, along with our three adventurous children. Nine years ago, we embarked on an incredible journey, leaving our home in Alaska, USA, behind to explore the world. As teachers, we were fortunate to find amazing opportunities in Chennai, India, where we spent two enriching years. Seeking new experiences, we then made our way to the United Arab Emirates.
Just as we were settling into our UAE life, the pandemic struck, but it didn't dampen our spirits. Instead, we saw it as an opportunity for another chapter in our journey. We moved to Indonesia, where we currently hold teaching jobs, and it has been a time of learning, growth, and connection.
As a family, we thrive on traveling and embracing the unknown. Adventures are our way of life, and through our experiences, we aim to inspire our children to be confident in meeting new people, trying diverse cuisines, and immersing themselves in different languages and cultures.

the kari ayam, ayam bawang, soto ayam, and seblak jeletot should be cooked with water like a soup.. it's better when you can slurp if there is soup in it.. but i love your reaction tho 😍😍

You should to add water to become broth in that several noodle
Kelly, those were all soup variants! The fried noodle variant is called Mie Goreng which are more easily available in North American Asian markets than the soup variants. They also have kecap manis in the packs.
Now we want Kelly’s mom to try the real thing in Indonesia 🇮🇩
Ya there is sweet ketchup and hot sauce on fried noodle variants and the soup there isn't.

Wow, Kelly! Your mom is great! My dad is great, as he will try anything, and he is 93 years old. My mother has lost her sense of taste and her sense of smell at age 84, but even before that, she was skeptical of most foods that were not American or European.

If you want, you can mix it with egg or sausage when boiling the noodles and currently there are many flavors and brands besides Indomie, make sure to use the chili sauce to get the best taste.
Ayam bawang pakai kuah, kalau tidak pasti asin rasanya.berikan air pada sajian mie ayam bawangnya.kecuali mie goreng tidak diberi air pada sajiannya😊

Additional info, well as most of the other comments has said. Indomie that are soup based has more robust flavour in the soup. So throwing it out was a bit of a question for me, but it’s not fair to point out mistakes for a fun video like this 👌

Chicken onion noodle soup is legendary, in Indonesia sometimes it's hard to find it, I'm surprised that you can find it in your country, it's very good 😊

Oh my God Kelly, the indomie you showed are all mie soup/not mie goreng (fried) so there should actually be some water/broth in it otherwise this is too salty/not tasty. In Indonesia we also eat the indomie with the sambal sauce.
