First of all, it is true that the implementation of the death penalty does treat poor people and minorities in unfavorable ways. However, there are some crimes so heinous that no other penalty than death suffices. Parr’s crimes meet that threshold in my opinion. It’s never a joyful thing to take a human life for any reason, but Parr put himself in this position and his sentence was most definitely deserved.

Most people are against the death penalty until one of his or her family member get killed by a criminal. I am for the death penalty, only problem is why process takes 10-15 years.

Maybe we need to look at the flaws of our correctional system. We seem to focus too much on "punishment" and not "rehabilitation." Norway is a good example of how focusing on rehabilitation decreases recidivism. Their jails are pretty "posh," yet they have one of the lowest recidivism rates in the world, at 20%.

Execution watch should focus on prisoners that have some redeeming quality or some value, Carrol Parr had no redeeming qualities.

Very unintelligent individual ,im sure being raised in a poor household ,drug addicted, domestic violence,mental,physical and perhaps sexual abuse doesn't help.People like this really come from horrible dysfunctional homes and they never really have a chance from the get go. They are right on one thing, you do not see a rich man on death row. I use to be all for the death penalty but i just do not know anymore..Some circumstances i can understand some i just cant.I dont think we really have the right to take a persons life ..Its just a very touchy subject..

I feel the death sentence should be giving to other lessor crimes also. We look at countries like the middle east, China or areas you usually get one chance to commit a serious crime. Here in the US it's repeat, repeat, repeat. A slap on the hand. Every one seems against the death penalty until a senseless act causes a death within your own family. Even our God and religion was baised on death and repercussions of breaking rules. If you don't want to live in a box and have a needle in your vein. Stick with people trying to live correct and avoid harming human's and committing insane crimes. Yes their are flaws within the legal system but your were also involved in murdering someone's loved one dude.
China and the middle east are not good examples to look at. Death penalty is wrong. And for lesser crimes even twice as wrong.
Maybe we need to look at the flaws of our correctional system. We seem to focus too much on "punishment" and not "rehabilitation." Norway is a good example of how focusing on rehabilitation decreases recidivism. Their jails are pretty "posh," yet they have one of the lowest recidivism rates in the world, at 20%.
