Originally: AMD Turion 64 X2 T-58 processor 1.9Ghz Dual Core 1GB DDR2 340GB SATA-I HDD 802.11 b/g three USB 2.0 ports, 10/100BaseT Ethernet, 56k modem, HMDI 1.4 / VGA / S-Video outputs, Firewire port 54mm ExpressCard slot (direct connect to PCI 1.0x1 lane) Windows Vista Home 32-bit Currently: AMD Turion 64 X2 T-68 processor 2.4 GHZ 8BG DDR (dual channel, 4GB per slot) 1TB SATA-III SSD (connected to SATA-I speed dock) 802.11 a/b/g/n with Bluetooth. I loved the video straight to the point and extremely thorough in your presentation but I have one question why did it not detect that you were running Windows 10(specific message: Install Ubuntu alongside Windows 10) I have seen that in a multitude of other videos. Explain if you can???
i think its due to the fact that there was no efi partition. from what i have seen i think ubuntu recognizes os from boot drive which is efi for mordern uefi users.

Followed these instructions for Linux Mint instead of ubuntu and with Windows 8.1 on an old Dell Studio Hybrid. Linux installed fine. Reboots automatically into windows as usual, and with easyBCD I set up linux with Grub legacy and restarted. it just goes right into windows still. Tried setting it to Grub2, still goes right into windows? did I miss something? EDIT: I am using legacy BIOS as there is no UEFI on this old machine.
At 22:38, when selecting the drive, only my windows partition is showing. None of the other partitions I created appear 😞. I believe I followed the process exactly. What could be causing this?

Reasons: Either the programs are free but on Windows that similar program is cost money or the Linux program that is just that great/comparable to Windows program. I don't know anything about Linux. I installed it years ago on my pc but never use it. Can you give me an idea what programs are great on it.

Bro it formats my ssd from mbr to gpt how to fix and my laptop doesn't support uefi.
Just saying, Home Edition doesn’t come with BitLocker so if you have that, you don’t need to disable it.

It just says executing 'grub-install failed /dev/sda5' failed. This is a fatal error...
Installing on regular SDA works fine BUT it fucks my bootloader and I'm left with the grub rescue command line

Brother....on Rufus application you select MBR with UEFI but MBR is only supported with Legacy.
