Years ago I used to think this chanting sounded evil and cult like. I was a rebellious protestant at the time. Now, this is the most soothing sound of music I can hear. I've left the rebellious ways of Protestantism, tho not entirely, still a bit of protestant in me I have to get rid of.
Don't equate Protestanism (a broad denomination) with your troubles with faith. Educate yourself before you speak. Protestants love and respect our Roman Catholic brothers and sisters like we do all other denominations of Christendom. In fact, what you are listening to was created before the Protestant Reformation when we were all "Catholics", which we still are. "Catholic" simply means Universal in Greek. The Roman Catholic Church is simply the largest denomination of Christendom. And like most Orthodox Christian Churches, we simply don't believe in Papal primacy.
