    Great video with some good information.My first job as a second man in 1971 was shunting the yard at Witham with a Class 31.

      Thank you! That's cool, so Witham used to have a larger yard then I'd assume?

      It was really what was left of the closed Maldon branch.

      There were also sidings at Braintree which we had to shunt, and previously goods trains had gone through Braintree to Felstead for the Ince & Elton fertilizer traffic. But that section was shut just before I started.

      @@nutmeg5032 Right yeah I read about the former longer/bigger branch, shame most lines like that were cut back in the day.
